heres a good snack to enjoy twice a day if you can stomach it!

16 oz. Can of chili
10 oz. can of corn
1 patty hamburger mixed in
12 oz. glass of whole milk mixed with some water (helps me digest it better personally)

yields somewhere around-
1,100-1,300 calories
80+ gms protein
100-120+ gms carbs
30+ gms fiber (woah, watch out! you will crap alot!)

i eat this meal twice a day for a week and i can put on about 10+ solid pounds easily when ever i need to bulk up quick. It's not the best plan but it works temporarily and works great anytime you want a high cal ,quick meal. The fiber fills you up and expands in your gut and it draws water and carbs into the muscles, because it's a complex carb and the sodium content futher bloats up the muscles even more, the corn futher increases the carb content and it the protein completes the incomplete protein in the beans, the milk adds to the protein content as well as calories and the beef patty? it tastes good! (it's fatty, but all the fiber absorbs the fat anyways so it's all good!) plus it nicely boosts the protein content as well!! just make sure to drink about 20 oz. of water an hour after the meal, fiber NEEDS WATER because it aborbs alot of water in your system..trust me, unless you want to become constipated..drink water!! i also heard that fiber expands in the gut and it needs water to pass through (???)

this meal just sits in my gut for hours and i have a ton of energy after the fullness starts to go away...if you wanted to, you could even add some bisquits ,toast of nacho chips to the mix..maybe a serving of broccoli or a small salad also!

i eat this meal every other day to say regular and also keep my weight on the up and up. i am naturally lean, but i gain muscle easily- i don't know if it's the genes or what, but most would say that this many carbs at once would make most people fat..i am thinking that because of the enormous fiber content it really slows down the absorbtion rate of the carbs and fat into the system..who knows, all i know is that it works!

From what you're describing that actually sounds pretty nasty.

Why not make a large thick chilli with lots of meat instead?

CHILLI is good stuff good post, when i did my first bulk about 10 years ago i used chilli as a staple in my diet. If your looking to bulk eatting a PB and J samwhich before bed with a 12 oz glass of milk will work wonders also.

yeah me either, i am lactose intolorant as well..but i suppose that because of the bulk of the meal and the water diluting the lactose in the milk- it helps with digestion. i just had a serving of this stuff and boy am i getting sleepy!

I'm not lactose intolerant, just resistant. I can't drink more than .5L of milk a day otherwise....

it does taste good for what it is..budget bulk up food! cheap, full of protein/carbs a ton of calories and the right stuff to build size fast! if you're lazy and want a big meal without the hassle, the is right up there with my other favorite bulk up meals - spaggetti, half a chicken and salad, steak & potatos etc.

If your a hardgainer and cannot put on weight the PB and J will work. I used to eat the same thing when i was younger. If you put weight on easily then i wouldnt be drinking whole milk, eatting cans of chilli or touching pb and j

P.S.

i never added instructions on how to cook the stuff, drain the chili in a drainer and wash off all the sauce on them- leave about a quarter of chili in the can, drain the other half.rinse it out really good and let it soak in water for about an hour ( to further dilute the sodium from the beans and meat) put the chili into a pot and bring it to a boil and then medium heat.drain the water out and then add the chili from the can.
presto! you just eliminated 90% of the sodium.as for the meat patty use 90% lean ground beef.
canandian bacon and ham have sodium nitrates them BTW which is worse then pure sodium itself- it may have no fat but that's because of the way it's processed.Beans are an excellent source of energy complex carbs and fiber, as well as protein.this is bulking food that puts on weight, chicken breasts, tuna and salami or whatever will get you some muscles..but nothing will put on bulk like chilli, you just need to know how to prepare it correctly.

ummm

Are you guys that are criticising that meal being for real or are you just ****ing around? I can tell you as a REAL bodybuilder that that meal is great for you. Beans are an excelent source of protein, as is hamburger. Corn is full of healthy carbs. The ONLY bad thing about that meal is that the sodium is probably very high but that isnt a big deal if you're a young guy. Its funny too when that guy above says **** like "omg it has 1200 callories holy ****t!!!". Do you even know anything about body building? If you're bulking then you should be getting 4000+ calories a day, the real problem for guys like me is getting ENOUGH calories, not getting too many.

1200 calories (in one meal) is not the way to go even if you are BBing.

Unless its post workout, otherwise you gain fat like a pregnant woman.

because of the type of meal it is though, it gets slowly digested into the system (fiber, fats, protein) it kinda just sits in the gut until it's fully digested..i know that sounds pretty nasty- but thats what it does basicly- but then again at that many calories and protein- one would'nt need to eat as much or as often because of the extremly slow timed release effect for the meal content- yes, i know six tiny meals a day- been preached about it a kazzilion times already and yes it works , i get it..but for those who don't have the luxery of meal replacement bars or snacks and are limited in resources- you gotta make due with what you got- and this meal is a good answer..is it high in sodium? yes, but there are ways of getting around it..does it make you fart like a race horse..i don't know, i didn't think race horses fart..it's moderatly high in fat and yes, it's canned..but you know what? it'll bulk you up and give you the raw materials needed to GAIN WEIGHT!! it's NOT a light or fluffy meal or a prepackaged MRP with a fancy wrapper with 60 grams of protein and 0.0000 grams of processed super engineered gunk..no it's none of that..it is what it is, a old fashioned way to get alot of calories and protein. cheap and filling.thats it. if i had a choice between a highly processed weight gainer filled with maltodextrin, high frustose corn sysrup, glucose polymers, calcium casinate and god knows what else...i'd rather take a can of good ol fashion chili anyday!!!
