Ok, I posted something similar in another thread a few days ago...but I thought I'd offer a more streamlined version of the situation. I'm going to take this girl out on a second date. Very cool and into me as far as I can tell-

It's up between taking her downtown and grabbing a few drinks/lunch and looking around for CD's in the 'cool' section of the city on Saturday afternoon...Or grabbing sushi - saki - beer at a very good Japanese restaurant in my area one night this week.

Thing is this cheque deal again. The sushi - saki - beer combination will cost some $$$. Thing is, that kind of dinner is good fun and good times because the saki works its magic by getting you smashed and you're doing something different- cultured.

Either way, am I stuck paying the bill for this...I'm going read the article in the Bible for this scenario- But I was just interested to hear your opinion on the dates and the bill.

Any help is appreciated.

you must be a baller to take a girl out on a second date and drop $100 on just dinner. BLING BLING.

You know what would be cooler....find out if you can make sushi wiht her at the bar. Im not sure if they would let you, but im sure there are places where they teach you how to make and roll up sushi. Then in the end...open up that warm saki and eat your own creations. in my opinion, this would be most fun. Its a great way to get to know her.

No, that's what I'm saying bro...

I'm not a balla shot calla, but that's fun as hell and I'd like to do that.

I'd rather have the sushi chef prepare the fish- I can get to know her while they slice and dice the fish- and it will be good in the end- lol.

I'd say a meal like this would cost anywhere from $35 to $55.00.

I always offer to pay the check, unless the woman has some issues with that and insists on paying part / half / all of the bill.

There are male friends of mine though, that believe a true "player" would make the woman pay for everything.

Hmmm, well most of the date ideas I see around here border on lame. That's just me though. I'm not into parks, picnics, bowling, putt putt or paint ball. I'd feel like a taco filled with lamb if I asked some girl out to do one of these things. But for a second date-- and someone I just met, I don't want to spend so much cash...

I think most guys see most dating activities as lame, but we do it to make our women happy. My perfect date is cook me dinner and get naked, or get naked while she's making dinner, or really any date that involves her getting naked.

Most women are less impressed by how much money you spend on a date, and more impressed by how much thought went into the date. This board talks about how to gauge a woman's intrest level, but sometimes we forget that the woman is also trying to gauge our intrest level too, and one of the ways she does that is by looking at how much thought and planning went into the date.

You are gambling big time that she'll like sushi and saki... unless you know she does, I'd pass on it. Sure it's ok for dinner, not my ideal of fun though... if you can take her to a Jap steak house, that's even cooler, cuz they cook it in front of you, and it's not raw. Then afterwards, skip the CD store thing, instead, head over to a place for some coffee, and then hit the stikin dance floor!!!! ...just an idea. :)

Anyone here not do the club thing?

I dig electronic music but I'm like a social retard when it comes to clubbing and dancing like that- lol.

Clubs are cool. I like to dance, but never really got into the whole "club scene". Women are everywhere you look, and I just think it's kind of limiting only meeting them in one kind of atmosphere. The plus side of clubs is that almost every woman there is waiting / expecting to be hit on. However, I have a few hot female friends that would never be caught dead in a club, for their own reasons. These are women just waiting to be "snagged" going about their everyday business. A true womanizer sees women ripe for the picking everywhere he looks. The world is his oyster.

If you take your girl to a club and dance.....there will be more than just dancing :D

Its hard to say b/c she might just want to dance and you want to seduce her on the dance floor. THe downside of this is that she might be hit on by other guys. You are gonna want to take that into consideration. How jealous will you get if guys start macking on your date. What if she starts handing out her number? How do you handle that?

I would still go for a more private outing.

For a GF or wife? Absolutely. For a 1st or 2nd date? Hell no. The goal (at least for me) is to get her alone and naked, not expose her to a room full of DJ's like you guys. :)

Sure, a bit of friendly competition is healthy, and a DJ should be comfortable with that, but if you can stack the deck in your favor, why not do that?

I personally prefer the first few dates to be in a quiet and intimate setting, where she can concentrate on the prize (me) without a lot of distraction.

LOL- Thanks, that's good and so true at the same time.

Good point. I'd be pissed because I drove and I feel responsible to bring her back- but then again, maybe I'd just leave and not worry about her...

I don't know.

No doubt man- my man concern was the cash issue. It's simple to go and get something to eat and have a good time- I could make that longer too...

Just don't want to spend a wad of cash on it and feel sucker punched later- this is all...nothing more.

I find it quite amazing how many guys on here think this is a 5hitty date idea. It's perfect for a second date! It's easier on your brain and your wallet.

You guys over-analyze date ideas too much. The whole point is NOT what you do, but HOW you do it. If you go and just look at CDs, it's gonna be fvcking boring. If you go and look for CDs with insane song titles to laugh at, it's a whole different story. Threaten to buy her a Conway Twitty album for her birthday, make fun of her being out of date if she's looking at the cassettes, comment on how she's being a lesbian because she's looking at a Britney Spears album cover, etc, etc.

My best dates have been in stores instead of dinner at some fvcking boring resteraunt. The whole point is you have to make it fun, and she'll enjoy your company. Save the sushi for a 6 month anniversary.

All women are different.... depending on who she is and what makes up her DNA, it's a good bet, they(she) likes to dance. If they don't, then there's something wrong with them, seriously. Sure they may seem fine now, but something about a woman who doesn't like to dance...
Not to get off subjet but, taking a chic to a dance club now, on the second date, or third, or later, is not going to make a damn bit of difference. Unless you can't dance, then dancing may seem like a very bad idea. It's not. If you are worried about another dude hitting on your girl, then you got no bidness dating, PERIOD. When you walk into a place, the furthest thing from your mind should be 'Ok.... who should I watch out for? Who's going to hit on my woman?!' LOL!! ....What? Like you're telling me that if she saw you talking to other women, she won't think, 'Hey, this guy is a catch, look at all the hoes on him now. I bet he can f*ck like a mothasucka... I wonder if he likes anal? ...' j/k there. :) ... this is true fellas.... it's a bad misbelief that, long dinners is a good thing. It's not. Women don't want to sit for 4 hours eating. They want to do something active. There's plenty of time later to have those one on one evenings later, just have as much fun as you can now, you know what I mean? If you are thinking, 'Hey, I want all eyes on me, not distractions.' DUDE, if you want all eyes on you, the club is where you'll get it. Also, a few drinks, close dancing, you guys are all dripping with sweat, feeling a little dirty, who knows? ;) ..... Again, taking her dancing is a good idea. She don't like dancing? Take her to the damn library and drop her non-dancing ass off. :)

Yuk..I hate Fu<KEN SUSHI...lol

As far as clubbing goes....

I did the club scene as soon as I was allowed to. Eventually it got old for me, so I decided to branch out. A friend suggested that I try a Latin Club where it's more upscale and classy atmosphere. It surely beats a Stuffy, smoked filled, traditional club.

Being a Latin male I could not resist. Anyway, there is nothing hotter than you and a Hot Latin Lady working up a sweat on the dance floor.

Learn Salsa. My friends, if you stick with it. You'll never regret it.
