Trucker-chicks are mad that companies won't hire them because they don't have female trainers, and don't want sexual harassment issues

Ashli Streeter, of Killeen, Texas, said she borrowed $7,000 to attend a truck driving school and earn her commercial driving license in hopes of landing a job that would pay more than the warehouse work she had done. But she said she was told by Stevens Transport, a Dallas-based company, that she couldn’t be hired because the business had no women to train her. Other trucking companies turned her down for the same reason.
Companies that insist on using women to train female applicants generally do so because they want to avoid claims of sexual harassment. Trainers typically spend weeks alone with trainees on the road, where the two often have to sleep in the same cab.

Don't these truck cabs have interior cameras? ffs.

But to be fair, a hairy unshowered trucker guy farting in the cab is grounds for a claim.

That won't help when they have to get out of the cab. Could easily say it happened while in a store or walking somewhere, etc

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

No not usually, she'd be lucky to find that... the people who drive trucks like being by themselves, generally. I've seen some creepy fukin interiors. One guy keeping various hacked-up animal parts in jars underneath his bed, lol... that was an insane ride. Other guys smoke... a lot of guys smoke and the interior reeks of cigarettes, or they don't wash the bedding and it stinks of wet dog. Some east indian guys drill a hole through the cab and sh1t down that instead of stopping at the Flying J. Its hilarious talking to independent mechanics, every now and then, they pull these things up and the undercarriage is caked in sh1t.

As far as women go, a lot of them end up banging their trainers. This is generally why they don't want women drivers. There is so much that can go wrong in a space that small. Guys usually ride the same trucks for years and consider it their home. A lot of guys are divorced and actually live in the cabs full-time because they've got nowhere else to go. On most long haul runs, you have to live with this person for 2 weeks non-stop, if dispatch calls it in, you could be on the road an entire month without going home. Not to mention women suck at driving and a lot of shifts are like 13 hours straight (legally) through the desert at night when you just want to sleep. My first time seeing black dog was a terrible night and I probably would've quit had we not been partway to California, I can only imagine how that would go down for some whiny entitled b1tch. It's an extremely harsh job in the elements too, when you have to put chains on 18 wheels in the slush and blowing snow. Good luck.

This is a bs article though. How many companies did she apply to? I had to apply to like 30 before someone took me on in my twenties after graduating from a very reputable local school. It's not easy to get a company to take someone with zero experience because most people wash out in their first week. They also want you to sign for 3 years minimum and ride teams for most of that time. Teams suck btw, living 3 feet from someone you despise is absolute hell on earth. That said SGT2000 (****ty Green Trucks) will literally take ANYBODY. Challenger is very left wing, they also have the nicest, cleanest trucks I've ever seen. So I kind of doubt she tried everywhere. Also most of the trucks are MANUAL which is probably not ideal for women. Only if you're lucky will you get an Automatic shifter and not anywhere in in the south. Manual trucks are cheaper to operate.

There are various expediter companies that are happy to take new drivers. I bet she went to one or two local places, flopped on the bed and had a temper tantrum. The reality is that it's hard for men too darlin. Why not go drive a school bus or a shunt truck to cut your teeth? I don't understand why woman wants to go OTR, most men, myself included, just want to be home at the end of the night.

But Ms. Voie added that trucking companies also need to do more to improve training for women, including placing cameras in cabs to monitor bad behavior and paying for hotel rooms so trainers and trainees can sleep separately.

I just caught this. GOOD FKING LUCK B1TCH. You're not getting a single god damn driver as soon as that happens. Jesus christ... alot of guys drive with their feet up on the dash, guys cook the books, do 24-hour runs, and all the companies know it. At that point, the industry would cave in, all drivers would go the owner/op route. I had ONE company, just once, pay for a hotel room begrudgingly when our truck broke down, and for just one day. The rest of the week we sat in a parking lot and slept in the cab in the Colorado summer heat. It was boiling. Nah, I can completely understand why they don't want h0es in the industry now. Screw that.

That's one job I don't envy not having.
