Traveling to Europe...Help!

Hey guys...coming this late December, me and a few of my friends will be traveling to Europe until mid January. We are going to fly into Germany(Tegel Airport I believe) and are attempting to hit Prague, Amsterdam, and France(we'll be leaving from Paris). I'm a little nervous as it is my first real trip outside the US and we're banking on staying with some people there(if not, then we're sleeping in alleys I suppose! )

If anyone can give me any pointers about what foreigners should do, see, not do, not see, not drink,etc I'd be extremely gracious. I'm talking more along the lines of local customs in those countries, things I should be careful about saying, ways to save money on food and ways not to get screwed by my inability to understand those languages.

I'm also a little confuzzled about the train situation there...from what I've read or attempted to interpret, Eurail won't go to Czech Republic on one of those package deal passes? Basically we need train transport between Czech Republic, Holland, and France and I'm under the impression CR is not able to be included. Any help explaining those would be great, and if anyone knows any cheap places to stay in any of those countries(I mean CHEAP!!), then please send it on to me.

I´m from Germany. It depends on which part of Germany you´re going to. I think people in the south are more friendly than in the other parts of Germany. You definately have to drink some German beer :cheer:
Watch out when you go to Amsterdam though. You know what I mean if you´ve seen the movie "Hostel".

well i was in prague for about a year ago ... had a blast...

first of all there is one nightclub you defenatly want to visit , wich is Karlovy Lazne , its this awesome 5 -6 floor nightclub , and ever floor has its own theme like rnb rap trance , and the top floor is a relax floor where you go to chill with a girl. Drinks are ofcourse cheap as hell , so are clothes , now they may be fake but they last a long time , i still wear some of the clothes i bought over there....

also if you and your mates are up for it , there is a drink called Absinth wich is basicly illigal in some other countries , me and my mates drank the **** til they didnt have anymore left .... =P its a drink with some kind of little poison in it , highly intoxicating .... just max 5-6 shots mate dont go higher then that.... =P other then that youl have an awesome time , also there is this one pizza place o the main street of prague right across the casino on the other side , its a door that goes into a basement , thats where i have had my ultimate favorite pizza ever , really well made.... you have to try it if you gonna go there...

all in all prague is a downrite partyplace , just dont be too rude and keep your cool , go to karlovy lazne because it has some very horny tourists there that are itching to give it away... and enjoy your life... youl have a blast

Awesome description of Prague, Morphiex! I add only one thing: Prague's pushers are the skinniest turds in the world, so you can easily take their hash, pay them half of what they're asking for and threaten them to call the police (which you are not going to do, unless you want a couple of Czech police officers beating your ass until you bleed).
