We are hurrying to get the details together like how we will aquire money and lodging but it all seems very possible.

Anyone who is looking to travel with us...this is an open invitation.

im a couple years behind you guys but I am going to do the same once I acquire the funds. Im gonna go for the prototypical Eurotrip with my best buds and then I am just going to live in random places throughout my life til I hit the time I want to settle down for good.

How long are you going to stay in each place saber?

Id be in, if only i had the money and wasnt in school right now...i plan to do a euro trip solo in the summer though...should be a lot of fun! Its good to meet people of the same interest though, having friends like that would be awesome man. Remember to always have fun, make new friends from all over the world, take a lot of pictures, and if you can, write a journal of your experiences so you can remember them always. ;) - Ken785

Awesome dude, I am traveling in China right now. Best thing you can do. I have some great stories that I thought would never happen to me.

I'm planning something very similar, deciding between Europe and SE Asia... I've been saving for just under a year, got 10k for my trip and I plan to leave in November for around 6 months. I personally think dropping everything and traveling is one of the best things you can do before settling down... after all, you can drive a nice car, hone your DJ skills, buy a house all when your 40 and 50. But you can only travel this way while you're young with no responsibilities... that's my 2 cents.

Hope you guys have the time of your life, I'm looking for suggestions on how to make money while traveling so I don't have to use up my savings... any ideas aside from teaching english, as I do not have a degree?

I agree travel while young because when you have all those house & car loans and kids a 3 month trip or more won't be nearly as easy to pull off.

I wouldn't suggest Europe though, kind of expensive, and if you're from the US the exchange rate sucks in much of Europe now. For what you will spend to stay in cruddy hostels and eat peanute butter sandwhichs in Europe, you could be living well in many other parts of the world, but since you guys can afford europa more power to you =)

thx for the support...we are both pretty excited.

As far as money goes I have a decent amount saved up but hopefully won't spend too much.
I have always been able to make money whith craigslist and am working on how to use th internet even more.

For example I have already found several jobs in hawaii...the ironic part is I will probably negotiate a better salary than the job I just quit. lol

I will continue to sarge and hopefully have some nice LR for you guys.

Im only 17 now, but I really want to go on a trip like this.

Someday, I'm just going to pack up and leave. I just need to stay committed to this goal or 'someday' may never come.

How do you bring your money with you on a trip like this? Cash? ATM Card?

Just to give you an idea, i spent 6 weeks in europe last year (France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Greece) and I spent around $8,000. It was worth every penny though. Ok maybe not every penny.

You should always use cash, everytime you use your card, whether it be restaurant or ATM, your bank will charge you a fee. And trust me it adds up. They have currency exchanges in main cities, exchange your money there. But yeah, Europe is damn expensive. With the exception of Greece.

I did a report on these cities, you can search it.
