I hope I got the muscle right, the one that brings your stomach in, towards your spine. I was wondering if strengthening this particular part of your abs will cause your stomach to be "flatter" from a profile view. Even when I'm leaner, my lower part of my stomach seems to "round" out, as if I just ate a good sized meal. I really hate that...

odds are nobody else notices, unless it's your posture.

When I wear normal fitting shirts, its noticeable. Anyways, I just want to get it as flat as possible, so when I finally start building up the abs, and losing fat, it looks flatter from the side.

I'm always suspicious of isometrics, but it couldn't hurt. Let us know how it goes.

If you're squatting properly, your TVA should be bulletproof, and there'd be no need to do that crazy woman's exercise.

Lordosis can create the appearance of a bulging stomach - do you have a sway back?

I AGREE. :D

You may want to also train your posterior core more (hypers, glute ham raises, stiff leg deads, good mornings, pullthroughs etc). Also don't do reps for ab work, do lower reps with a plate or dumbbell on your chest. 2 x 10 is good.

As manuva says, you'll be hard pressed to find a good squatter who wasn't got a cast iron backside..

Fifteen seconds on google:

Note the distended stomach on the second image.

I had a slight sway-back until an osteopath pointed out how tight my hip flexors were, which was tilting my pelvis forward and putting a curve in my spine. A couple of weeks of stretching allowed my pelvis to tilt back to a more natural position and rectified the problem.

Hm. I don't think I've got that, but hell if I know.

What stretches?
