Does anyone else think that track meets are a waste of time?

You go there and wait and wait and wait. FOR WHAT? Less than a minute of running.

And then the coach gets angry because you DIDN'T WASTE TIME at a fvcken track meet.

What a joke.

Ok,
I'm trying to figure ur story out and figure what ur mad about. B/cthe last part seemed too personal to be asking an actual question.

Did the coach get upset at u b/c u didn't show up to support ur team or something?

I know what you mean man, i went through that track/ccountry-meet crap through 6 yrs of middle and highschool too.

the coaches want everyone on the team to stick around for the entire time (4-7 hours on a sat. and/or friday) even though any given individual on the team will only be competing for 1-15 minutes.

that stupid 'support the team' crap was never something i cared for either.

what i usually did was have parents/friends pick me up as discretely as possible, altho often i had to be on the morning bus to the meet anyway.

Track meets are really fun and exciting.

For one thing, there is running there. Several people have been known to just start running at track meets. Occasionally, they jump over things. Once, I saw someone run up to another person, and then hand them this thing, and then THAT person started running. It was suspenseful!

And don't get me started on the people who run and then jump into the dirt!

Whoo boy.

Track meets.

Don't do track if you don't like it, obviously. If you want to do it, then just suck it up. Complaining is useless.

It was less of the "too slow" and more of the "funny man".

But don't try to pretend that track meets are exciting.

I never even ran at track meets. I threw a 12 pound sphere through the air :D

But yeah, they weren't so exciting. The most fun thing to do after my event was to pick out the hot female runners from other schools.
