I'm a skinny fellow and atm right now i'm working on my whole body doing the usual heavy weights on the upper body in order to get bigger however, my legs in which i dont want big since my frame will look funky that is if my legs got bigger. Is it a good idea to do squats, duckwalks, bearwalks, frogjumps in substitute for heavy weights?

Why would you look funny if your legs got bigger? Your legs, thighs and back are the power house of muscle in your body. Compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts, rows will make your whole body bigger. You can do bicep curls until the cows come home, but you're not going to get "BIG" until you start using your whole body to lift the weights. Isolation exercises have their place. But it's not to gain over all strength and size. Again. Why would your frame look funny with bigger legs?

There you go...don't fall into that trap thinking your legs are OK. They will be quickly outsized if you don't work them hard.

Squats are THE best way to develop strong, ripped legs.
Live and die on the squat rack.

HAHAHA Good! The more pain the better. Make sure to eat lots of protein. That will help cut down on recovery time. If your goal is to get big, than cut out all your isolation exercises and stick to those big compound exercises.

As everyone else said, pump your legs, and your back, and you'll be huge everywhere in no time. All you gotta do is some squats, deads, pullups and some dips and eat the complete opposite of a somalian and you can put some major size on.

Good point MrRuckus. You should probably eat a decent amount of protein and fat before you die to help prevent muscle catabolism.

Somebody once told me (Warboss I think) that pain isn't always good. Being sore multiple days after can mean malnutrition. The day after? It's possible, 2, 3days? Maybe, any longer than that and you're either overtraining or not eating the right stuff...

LMAO at MrRuckus!!!

Anyways, agreed- squats are the absolute gold standard of...everything. I've been doing 3 weeks of squats and my abs have grown more than doing crunches, leg raises etc. for a year. Absolutely amazing.

But anyways, I gotta question: Whats the best way to make those calves grow? And how many reps? Some people say "calves are different" and I'm tempted to agree- I find that I need more reps to tire those mothersf*ckers out! Any suggestions?
