Hi everyone,

Okay Im in between doing the two. I dont know which one I should do? I mean, I want to get more muscle mass, but then again I want to lower my Body Fat so I can lose my love handles. Im in a place where I can see my muscles but then I have a big belly and love handles. I just.......dont know which one to do first. Can someone help me in this? Which one would you do first? I would still like to grow more muscles but then I want to lose the fat on my body too. I know I cant do both, so which one should I start with? Sorry if this question has been asked before but Im just looking for an answer. THANKS :D

IMHO

Well, what I did (even though I am just a beginner with not much muscle and had only 15% fat) was to cut up first. Now after almost 8 weeks (I'll switch to bulking after the 8th week) I have a decent 6-pack, defined tricepts/biceps, lost a TON of fat off my a$$ and back of thighs (thats where most of it was) and am pretty sure that I'll reach 9% body fat at the end.

That means that I will start bulking at a low body fat percentage, and even after the fat gains from bulking my new muscles will be quite defined. It's a personal thing though, if you prefer to be just plain big asap then bulk up. Definitely though choose one or the other: when i first started i tried to do both at same time, and had little muscle gains and almost no fat losses.

my 2 cents,

Ballistics always leave me looking like I got out of a swimming pool. Bulk with ballistics (E.G. power cleans, jerks, whatnot) if you want to try not to gain bodyfat while bulking, but unless you're very, very lucky, or you use loads of volume with ballistics, you won't lose bodyfat while bulking. Not significant bodyfat at least.

On my current routine I have noticed no fat gain, and a very slight drop in waist size, but have gained 4 lbs in 10 days, and base it around power cleans, jerks, and squats, with occasional mini-workouts involving chins or whatnot thrown in. I'll be sure to keep the board updated on this, because this is a learning experience for me (and a fun one :)
