Hey guys,

I'm leaving for Europe tomorrow morning for an orchestra tour. We're visiting Praque, Vienna, and Budapest among others. I checked some online weather forcasts and it shows temperatures in the negative. Here in California, it rarely closes 0 Celsius.

I'm wondering, what do you guys wear in Europe? I'm packing at the moment and I have no idea how to dress. I'd tremendously appreciate any feedback on what would be suitable to bring.

Thanks,
Eric

I'm asking about the kinds of clothing, since it is going to be pretty damn cold in northeaster europe. I've never been in that kind of climate be4, so I'd like to know what kind of apparel is necessary.

As i said, jeans, tshirts, sweaters etc...

Since east europe can be quite cold bring a good coat/jacket, scarf, gloves and a wool cap (or something along those lines) and you should be set. Some winter-boots would also be a good idea, and some long undies if you have any.

Are you going to Prague first?
If so, try to keep most of your purchases in that country. The prices are outrageously low in comparison to the western world.

As for clothing, the thicker the better, but also the more the better (wearing multiple layers of clothing works quite well for me).

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

If you're thinking about sarging during your off-time from orchestra, you'd better have some style. Europeans are about 1000 times more stylish than Americans, so the ol' T-shirt and Jeans with sneakers combo won't hold water. Then again there's also a large minority that worship America, and also try to dress like American suburban kids. Maybe you could go hang out with them.

Thanks guys,

I appreciate all the comments. I'm definitely not going to be fashionable because my wardrobe is all summer clothes, but it'll be ok. I'm bringing a digicam so I'll take pics for you guys. Be back in 9 days or so.

Follow-up ?

So how was your trip? Did you hook up with some true wiggers?

I'm American and was offered a job to work in Prague as an english language teacher. I didn't take it, but a few of my friends are working there now.

Basically, they wear western clothing that looks very american most of the time. They still have their tradition stuff they bring out every once in a while, though.

Don't get me wrong on this rgeere, I pretty much know all those cities.

In fact it'd be pretty hard to find a true wigger down in the cities mentioned. In Paris, maybe... But you know, if you go to see somethin', chances are you'll see it. I'm curious whether the thread starter actually got to meet some 'hood wannabe kids down there.

To the clothing, metro areas speaking, I'd pretty much say most middle and east Europeans casually wear Italian/French influenced fashion. IMO the American-looking clothing from the beginning of 90s is long since gone. Business dress is out of question, virtually the same worldwide. The California guy should only've been prepared to not let off his jacket and shirt not even on afterparties.

A hip-hop/skate and generally hipster or underground scene is a way different story though. That's probably what you had in mind?

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.
