The most important factor in your sleep cycle is your exposure to sunlight.

The extremely bright flare of the sun gets in your eyes at an intensite MUCH brighter than any normal light. This lowers melatonin levels and keeps you awake.

When you go back inside, your melatonin levels increase, and you become tired.

When you stay inside all the time, your body thinks its always night, and you will find it difficult to sleep.

Any amount of sun helps, alot.

The second most important thing is exercise. Do anything, just don't do it right before you sleep or it will keep you awake.

Spot on advice, if you want to not feel sleepy after 4-6 hours of sleep go outside and look around the sun first thing in the morning. Don't look directly at it and do this for a minute or two.

You should feel better.
