tips for dealing with fatigue???

I deal with an illness that produces chronic fatigue for me, mostly mental fatigue but also physical. I was wondering if any health-nuts here had any tips on how to energize the mind and body without caffiene... such as doing a light workout in the morning, something I've been thinking about starting. Any other tips like that or otherwise would be appreciated! :D

Drink lots of water and eats lots of fruits and vegetables. Also look into taking a multivitamin.

Sleep can help a lot too. :p

Somtimes it only takes ONE night of good sleep (around 8 hours) to completely revitalize me after only getting ~6 during the week and absolutely dragging. Sleep is incredibly important... DONT FORGET THAT.

well, sleep happens to be the problem for me :). i have chronic insomnia that has proven untreatable the last few years, so i just have to accept it and try everything else i can. Question about diet... as I understand it, foods high in protein/fat in the morning can really do a number on your energy levels because your metabolizm has to work super hard to break the food down. is there any advantage to having a carb only breakfast???

Not for the budding bodybuilder, who needs protein with carbs but I guess if you're not interested in muscle eating carbs only could be okay ..

And actually, fat in the morning can be quite energising - at least I find it to be so!

hmm, yes that seems to be a dillemma for me as I am trying to stay bulked. This morning I ate 5 krispy kreme originals (pure carbs to the extreme) and didnt feel any different than when i ate an omelette for breakfast, so perhaps diet is irrelavent.

Good god man. Are krispy kremes what you consider a carb-only breakfast?

You know, now I understand why older bodybuilders get so bloody frustrated with people today.

This is what I have for brekkie nearly every day: a bowl of oatmeal (100g or so), couple of slices of wholemeal toast with some non-fat cheese or jam (or both), some fruit, and a protein drink (60g) in milk.

Try eating that for breakfast and see what your energy levels are like! (and with all the protein you'll have no problem staying bulked)

lol that wasn't meant to be taken seriously, krispy kremes are not what i eat every day... as a matter of fact, this is only the second time my whole life ive ever had them. This morning was simply an experiment to see what would happen... evidently nothing. I am in excellent shape fat/muscle-wise so I didn't feel there was a risk. Cholesterol is real good too. No, if I were to have a carb only breakfast it would consist of toast and oatmeal most likely...
