Ever heard the saying "what goes around comes around"?

A lot of people have made it their ambition to be a jerk in life because they think it keeps them on the front foot and helps them achieve more. I thought I’d just tell you that the people who go furthest in life are the one’s who are ambitious and put themselves first, but always with a smile on their face. They are friendly and popular and do not spend their life thinking everyone is out to get them. Sure there are a lot of people out there in the world who will take advantage of you but the key is to have enough self respect to not be naive.

I used to hate going to clubs because I used to hate everyone who would go there. Usually for no reason at all, except that I have such a competitive mind. I used to have manipulative thoughts running through mind, and people saw it in me. Then one day I decided I was going to be friendly and stop putting people down, especially when I didn’t even know them. Immediately I saw the results because more people were talking to me, introducing themselves to me and I was enjoying life a lot more. I stopped being so hung up on my status in the world and just decided to enjoy it. It was easy to see that a friendly and open persona winds hands down over the grumpy and critical persona regardless of how good your don juan skills are.

So how do you do this.

- Laugh more
- Smile more
- Introduce yourself to more people
- Stop judging people until you meet them
- Try doing one nice thing for someone else every now and then without reward

Trust me you’ll enjoy life a lot more when you start to see the world in green rather than red.

Cheers,

DJP.

I love this post.

I know a lot of people who used to be AFCs, then ended up as jerks.

True, they got more women.

Unfortunately, they failed in their life. One of them failed year 11 and had to repeat, and now has ambitions to be a mechanic. One dropped out in year 10, and became a carpenter (used to want to be a lawyer). One is in jail, wondering how he got arrested for stealing money from a takeaway. Another managed to get into college, but people avoid him, and he ends up hanging around with thugs, who have the unfortunate effect of lowering his marks (drinking every night isn't good).

Even if you are an AFC, if you have diplomatic skills and are a positive person (rather than being Mr F*ck-Your-Mum and glaring at everyone), you WILL do better than a jerk who gets more women. After all, its about life, not women.

great post!!

we all need to stop whining and take a positive attitude to bring positive things to us. karma is real. just ask your grandma about it.

i think you did a wonderful job summing this up for us and reminding us not to become jerks just cause crap happens to us. and to remember that's just a part of life.
