i've never thought of rap as original masterpieces like some people rave about. most times rap is just samples of a rock or pop song with some dude talking about guns, hoes, and b@tches.

i can't stand timbaland but he makes a good living bring sexy back:rolleyes:

At first I was thinking, okay, similar, but not exact...

Until I saw the combined tracks..

But, artists use samples and shiz all the time

"Ballz" - D12 uses Peter Gunn...

Plus, there are many hip hop songs that use melodies from other artists...it's no big deal...That finnish guy should be happy hes getting publicity off of this...

Listen to rap artist of the 80's (there's a thread in the forum listing them). There was a ton of original talent back then. They were so talented, you could easily tell one rapper from another without even recognizing the song.

That wasn't sampling, sampling is when you use a small section from an original song and loop it. Timbaland took the artists entire arrangement and passed it off as his own. It's theft pure and simple, unless Timbaland bought the rights for it.

I don't know, it's easy to acuse people of plagiarism. We'll have to see Timbaland's take on this, allthough, this sounds, like a theft.

Now, to go and call him a talentless thief... that's a bit off. I mean, look at all he's created by now, don't tell me it's all a theft. He and Pharrell are the top producers right now. In the current situation, melodies will always sound similar to others. But, yeah, this sounds like a copy.

Go Michael!
