When bozos make up "diet plans" (like the one below) for people to stick to, of course they are going to view the word diet negatively.

The Five Bite Diet

When it comes to diets, we always think we’ve seen and heard it all. All the fads, all the outrageous lengths people travel to drop the kay gees. The Grapefruit Diet, The Soup Diet etc etc. But alas, there's a new one gaining momentum and its name (drumroll please)… The Five Bite Diet, plugged in the new book Why Weight Around.

Founder of the diet, Dr. Alwin C. Lewis explains his plan and the way it works:

- Drink as much of anything as you want as long as it doesn't contain calories (so, um, water).
- Take five bites of any food at lunch.
- Take five bites of anything at dinner.
- Take one multi-vitamin every day.
- Get "a bit" of protein a day.

Dietblog reports that “Lewis says that after three days on this diet you will no longer feel hungry. Once you have reached your weight you can go back to ‘eating normally.’ Do not be fooled this is not a good way to manage weight and get healthy.”

Our thoughts exactly.

The part in bold is why people fvcking fail when trying to lose weight. As soon as they lose it, they go back to their old habits. It can be noted that most doctors know fvck all about diets or losing weight as well, besides fro,: Avoid saturated fat, avoid sugar etc.

It's in cosmo because women don't like to hear that they need to count their calories and watch what they eat.

They want something simple, like this.

In reality, counting your calories is the only real effective way to gauge weight loss. Calories in, calories out.

And even then, some people can eat like a house and STILL stay skinny. Don't be fooled, genes have A LOT to do with it also.

There is some truth the 5 bite thing. I would reword it more like this:

Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful (chew it at least 30 times, and pay attention to the textures and tastes in your mouth. Critique it).
When you sense you are full, simply stop eating, no matter what it is on your plate.

Do this, and you'll find 5 bites is usually enough before you aren't hungry anymore.

Hahaha . . How big can the bites be? I could probably house a **** load of McDonald's Dollar menu in 5 bites.

I can eat a bigmac in 3-4 bites. Clearly this diet doesn't work.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

No wonder nobody ever loses weight.

I lost 35 lbs - went from 170 to 135 (I am 5'6 bear in mind). At that point what did I do? Go back to mcdonald's? Hell no! I maintained that mass until I found a new goal.

I am now 150 and look better than the last time I was 150 (when I lost the mass) and the time before that (when I got fat).

This is a LIFESTYLE change not some camping trip. Geez it makes my head hurt reading these 'diets'

I'm pretty sure I can get a whole big mac in one bite in my mouth (though it'd be pretty hard to chew!)

The root of it all is that they cannot take the emotion out of eating. Eating is an emotionally satisfying experience for them, when it should be considered an exercise and a need for survival & recovery.

When they go on a "diet", they do so with the underlying belief that it's a temporary thing to get rid of some blubber, after which they can go back to eating their favourite foods.

When they exercise, they way overestimate the calorie expenditure of exercising and believe that it will take care of the extra calories so they can still eat poorly like they've always done.

The emotional attachment to feel-good foods is what makes sure they will always fail.
