Yea, i know sport. Not everyone who practices can do that. I wanted to know how long it might take and where to start. I play now but i dont know what to practice.

Well it does take practice. I can play several songs by The Fall of Troy (the guitarist of the band plays really fast, way faster than that guy), and it's all practice. Just play the song really slow at first, then get faster and faster. That's just how it's done. It could take a day or a month. It depends on how often you practice and dedication.

I'd say it'd take about a week or two to play that song that fast if you really work at it. Cause that's nothing compared to what I've seen.

Sorry to burst you bubbles, but there was absolutely nothing difficult about that song. Drop D...gee what a surprise. Get a clue, that's nothing more than run-of-the-mill psuedo-new-metal.

I've been playing guitar for over 12 years, and I've dabbled in many different styles.

If you want to play some difficult metal, start with some early metallica and megadeth, then work your way up to some slayer. Get your right hand up to speed and practice your downpicking. If you can play the riffs on Master of Puppets the correct way(mostly all downpicking), then you can play what that guy plays in the clip with your eyes closed and half-asleep.

Then when you get bored with that, buy a flamenco guitar and try learning flamenco just to humble yourself and realize how little you know about playing guitar.

i couldn't play a regular scale on a guitar but i can play anything I hear by ear on the piano, and there was nothing specticular about that.

Learn your chords and scales, learn them backwards, fowards. Learn all the variations until it becomes second nature.

I am to the point where I can play a song I have never heard more times than not before I hear the entire song, becuase I know how the normal chord progressions are supposed to go, or sound like they will go.

If you go to collegehumor.com there is a guy playing zelda on the piano, it's pretty cool. What he did isn't the hardest thing on earth, but that's a long ass song

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Gotta love drop D. One finger power chords = looking like you know how to thrash really well.

Get good at power chords and palm muting and you can play that riff.

That was average new metal riffing, in dropped D tuning, nonethelss. nothing fancy. He was nice and tight, though.... many players haven't learned how to NOT play, meaning, they haven't learned that the space between notes needs to be clean.

I saw that last link (Canon in D) and that guy's pretty slick. It's a bit more my style of playing.

I was influenced by megadeth, Extreme, Testament and Metallica. I could play the entire Justice For All album note for note when I was 17. (solos and all) All it takes is massive dedication to your instrument, to get good..... and alot of time. I've been playing guitar for 16 years and the past 5 years I've been doing it proffessionally.

i am a semi decent guitar player, but i still would not intentionally sit a girl down and play her a piece unless it was an impressively difficult piece that i knew i could play flawlessly.

playing some basic ramones or metal shzt is not going to impress any woman - they've already had 10 boyfriends that could play master of puppets.

Yeah, that guy ain't anything special. The last guy was pretty good though. Those triplets near the end were pretty damn fast. By any standards he was far better than the first dude.
