this baffles me need help

why is that i find it easy to give my friends and other people advice in certain situations about girls and tell them how to act and what to say and it usually is successful. then when it comes to my own sh!t i struggle when im dealing with a girl that im talking to (meaning getting things with her to where i want them to be). this just baffles me. any explanations?
