Thinking about purchasing a juicer, can juicing make you gain weight?

I'm thinking about buying a fruit and vegetable juicer for all the health benefits that suppose to go along with juicing. It apparently is amazing for energy as well as a bunch of other stuff. You look at a guy like Jack LaLanne who is 95 years old and has more energy than I do, he must be doing something right by juicing.

My whole thing is that I want to continue gaining weight. Right now I'm drinking disgusting weight gain shakes that I absolutely hate to help me maintain and/or gain weight. I can't tell you enough how much I hate making and drinking them. It's milk, PB, ice cream, and olive oil.

So it'd be great if juicing can help me gain weight as well. Can this happen or would I still have to drink my shakes along with juicing?

ROFL! Yeah juicing can help you gain weight but there several risks associated with it. I'd recommend you do some research before you decide on a program.

I should've bet money that someone was going to try to be witty and funny by implying I was saying juicing...as in taking steroids. :moon:

I have looked into juicing in the past and there does not seem to be any great health risks, I was just wondering if you could outline some of them in order to make my research into it a little easier because I havn't come across anything that would suggest there are any health risks to juicing.

The only thing that I can think of is the old one about fruit juice having no fiber in it and is therefore simply fructose sent into your system very quickly - leading to fat build up and diabetes - but this is fruit juice - not blended juice....:nervous:

WTF? Peanut butter, ice cream AND olive oil? How do you drink that sh1t?

Milk
Protein powder
Banana
Oats
Peanut butter

Put all that in a blender, tell me if it tastes any better than your current "weight gain shakes".

As for the juicer, the only problem is the boatload of calories and sugar you will be getting in one big hit. If it was 2-3 pieces of fruit at a time it would be better, but the fruit is becoming concentrated, and the calories are going up.

1.5L full cream milk
2 tbsp heavy cream
4 raw eggs
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
3 scoop vanilla whey isolate
1 cup frozen berries
1 banana
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp fish oil

blend that up, add or subtract milk until you get desired consistency.

That'll put some mass on you real quick, just make sure to eat your veggies as well.
