One of my friends told me yesterday (as I was going on about a particular girl, thinking of ways to ask her out, when she would be free etc.) he gave me an example of a problem "If I go into a washroom to wash my hands, and as I go to grab a piece of paper towel while my hands are wet, I won't be able to get a piece because it would tear either way, so what is the solution to this problem?", he asked me what would be a possible solution, think in a critical manner. I told him "hmmm...how about if you already had a plan at first before you went in to wash your hands, grab some paper towel first before you wash your hands, think ahead". So, with this in mind, he said to just use your brain more and think about it in a more critical way, go outside your usual thinking pattern. When I talked with this girl she was telling me things which interested her, as well as what she does in university; among other things. What she was telling me could either relate to something else (think critically) or it could just be the plain obvious. The advice my friend was giving me was to just think for yourself, and if you can evaluate the situation in a critical manner then you will always have a plan in mind.
