So you want to get fit? You want to look like those guys that get all the women, those guys that walk around like they own the world? Maybe you just want to be able to take your shirt off at the beach without being embarrassed. Heres a little guide full of tips to make those goals reachable. They are listed in order of priority.

1- Make a plan. Decide what EXACTLY you want to achieve and when you want to achieve it by. If you know what you want, you can better guage your progress.

2- Commitment- No matter what you have in your plan, and how small your goals will be, they are out of reach if you dont stick to it. Accept no excuses from yourself. If you say you need to go to the gym 5 days a week, 4 is unnacceptable. Do what you say you need to do, and do it every week, every month, until you have achieved your goal.

3- Nutrition- No matter what people say, nutrition is the most important part of a fitness plan. I dont care how much cardio you do, how many sets of squats you do, if you eat a lot of high calorie processed ****, your body will still look like a sack of lard. Also include a multi-vitamin, this will make sure your body is full of nutrients.

4- Exercise- This is the most talked about, but probably least practiced (after nutrition of course) part of fitness. Do your workout with full intensity, and make sure it is effective. Research what workout style is needed to fulfill your goals, and do that. If you want to be HUGE, doing 20 sets of 20 reps wont help you.

5- Sleep- People just dont understand how important this is. You MUST have at least 8 hours of sleep, both to recover from your workouts and to have enough energy for the next one. Someone who is rested will be more likely to stick to their diet, as well as do their workouts day in and day out. It also promotes a sharp mind, which will invariably help your fitness.

6- Customization- Realize that your body is unique, and what works for some people might not work for you. You need to tailor your workout and diet to your personal body. This will take time and experience, but it is important to make sure whatever you are doing is right for you.

7- Supplements- Notice this is VERY far down on the list. Supplements, when taking correctly, can greatly improve your progress, but they have to be taken consistently, in moderation, and at the right times. Be careful not to depend on them, for they can only HELP you, they cant do the work for you.

8- Dont get discouraged- If you cheat on your diet one day, dont stress it. If you miss that workout, its not going to make everything youve done up to that point useless. Just make sure these single occasions of weakness dont stretch into strings of weakness, because that WILL wreck your plan.

9- Track your progress- If you can look back at where you were months ago, on a bad day it can sure give you a boost. If you realize you are benching 40 pounds more than you were when you started, that can make a bad workout just seem like a single occasion, rather than a trend.

10- Have Fun!- A lifestyle change, such as deciding to become fit, is something that is supposed to make your life BETTER, not just make you grumpy. Make sure you like the healthy foods you are eating, and make sure you enjoy your workouts. Trust me, there are ways to eat healthy and actually enjoy the food. Likewise, there are plenty of workouts that i guarantee you will enjoy. Its just about finding whats right for YOU.

Hope this helps some of you guys that are just getting started, and have made this great decision to better your lives through personal fitness. Too much of America is obese and sedentary, it takes individual choices to reverse that trend. Good Luck!

Dude bump that to numero 1. If you aren't having fun you aren't going to keep exercising and dieting. Nice list!
