I'm over at the HBO forums, and people are going apesh!t over the ending. At first I thought that the cable company had fu<ked up, then I saw it go to the credits and was like WHAAAT?. Who else watched it?

Yea saw it and was disapointed like everyone else. I thought Meadow was going to accidentally get shot in the final scene. I think they left it open so they could make a movie if they wanted.

I hated it at first but really like it now. It symbolizes Tony's death the most cryptic way possible and still leaves it open for interpretation afterwards. Remember the scene on the boat with Bobby in the first episode of the season? "when you die, eveything just goes black"...they did a flashback to that scene when Bobby was killed, probably to foreshadow that occuring in the finale.

what doesn't make sense thought, is I thought they backed up off of him. What was the point of killing him then?

Here's my theory on it. Tony lives. The clues are in the music.

1. Journey "Don't Stop Believin'" Very upbeat for the last moment.
2. Music always symbolizes something in Sopranos. Tony sang "Aqualung" (about a man w/ lung cancer) Johnny Sack dies of lung cancer later. Tony sings "Comfortably Numb" The car accident where Tony kills Chris, "Comfortably Numb" is playing. AJ and his girl are listening to Bob Dylan's "Its ok ma, I'm only bleeding" (or something like that) in the finale.

I see then ending as very metaphorical. Sometimes in life there is no closure and what better way to end a show that was about the unexpected than to give a big F You to what everyone was expecting.

caught the last episode on ON DEMAND...i loved it !!! definitely leaves room for interpretation but also gives heavy clues to Tony getting killed !!

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
