Ok, so my friend's sister died this summer, and he broke up with his girlfriend on the same day as her death. He has been telling this to some girls, he thinks it will improve his chances.

My question is - is this a good idea? Or do chicks dislike hearing about such sad events, and find it a turnoff?

He hasn't been telling it to girls he just met, but to girls he's known for some time, and has wanted to fvck for awhile.

Having a close friend or family member die can shatter your game. You become very vulnerable to having your feelings hurt because you lose your facade. The sadness shows.

He is probably trying to explain away his sadness to these girls so they won't hold it against him. Sadness is not an acceptable masculine trait. He might be thinking that if he can offer a valid reason for it they won't hold it against him and might help him through it.

Its not a good thing to do though. He needs to take time and recover on his own and build up his horny character once again.

Telling women you don't know sad stories, is in poor taste regardless of this case. The only reason to do it would be to give a lesson related to something she might have mentioned.

When I am with a lady I try not to talk about any negative/gloomy/unfortunate/embarassing moment that she might later relate me to in her head.
Example I had 3 friends die my senoir year of high school,I do not go around using it as pity material from women because then they will relate me to any deaths she sees around herself.
If you have not picked up already I think that was a bad move by your friend.
