I've seen this topic being thrown around alot and wanted to separate the myths from the truths. I have been studying biology/pharmacy for 5 years so I know what I am talking about. I am going to try my best to give you sciences final word on this topic.

The basics of Testosterone...
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone

Testosterone is an Androgen sex hormone responsible for the development of male attributes and various other functions. Testosterone promotes such male attributes as increased muscle tone, increased muscle size, facial hair, and the development of male sex organs. Testosterone plays a role in females as well as males. In both sexes it serves to increase libido, energy, immune function, and even protects against bone loss. What does this mean for us? Well it would seem more testosterone = more of these benefits right?

Your body keeps a natural balance of sex hormones. Males obviously have more testosterone than estrogen (and yes all men do have estrogen) as seen through their masculine attributes. Although, with some people it is unfortunately hard to tell. F*ck with that balance by using illicit steroids or other such hormones and your body will naturally lose the ability to produce its own steroids. Simply put, if you don't use it (ie naturally produce testosterone) you lose it (the ability for your body to naturally produce testosterone due to a persons reliance on exterior sources for the hormone.) SO DON'T DO ROIDS!

Ways to increase Testosterone and Libido...

Ways to increase testosterone...

The better your body functions the better you function. I hope all would agree with me on that one. So maintaining A BALANCED diet, exercise routine, sleep schedule, etc. will give you adequate testosterone and libido. For those of us that can't do that I've devised a "cheat sheet."

Suave’s Cheat sheet
1. Limit the use of caffeine, alcohol, and other illicit drugs.
2. Eat lots of cashews, peanuts, walnuts, fish, or any food that is high in essential fatty acids. Or take a fatty acid supplement such as flax seed oil that contains OMEGA fatty acids. The reason for this is that essential fatty acids play an important role in the development of hormone production.
3. Watch the Saturated Fats. Yes, LIMITED saturated fat and cholesterol intake has a positive effect on libido. But high cholesterol and a high saturated fat diet are potential causes of erectile dysfunction because of there negative effects on blood flow.
4. Workout! Exercise, it doesn’t have to be weight lifting, in general will improve blood flow and overall body function thus making the body more efficient in producing sex hormones.
5. Sex…this is a tricky one. Once a male ejaculates, that male loses a portion of his sperm count. With a decreased sperm count libido also decreases. The production of testosterone may increase because more is needed to stimulate sperm maturation. But regardless, libido will decrease if a man has too much sex or masturbates too much. A healthy sexual schedule is needed to ensure proper function, which is different for everyone depending on the person.
6. Stay away from herbal “remedies” because they have not been evaluated by the FDA and are crap 90% of the time. If you are going to purchase herbals or other such things, do it from a reputable company but be cautious.
7. Get enough sleep.
8. Learn the game and pick up girls! Last but not least, be a f*cking player! As mentioned before the more of a healthy sex life one has the better their libido is going to be and having sex with attractive women increases libido better than wacking off behind your fathers tool shed.

I thought that's what post-cycle therapy was for? Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators, Aromatase Inhibitors and all around anti-estrogens.

I've read that tea can reduce a man's libido...might want to look into that. I think it's short term, something like 20mins after consumption the testosterone levels can dip a little.

Good. Who wants libido?

I wouldn't mind if mine died off. It keeps me from caring during the periods where i'm not getting any and leaves me with time for other things...

I'd worry more about skipped heartbeats than libido. Arrhythmia kills.

I had it checked a few years back with my doc and she said it was the caffiene and to start drinking the decaff and the skipped beats stopped but I went back to drinking the regular but it's not a daily thing just happens accasionally during sleep and early mornings for some reason when I do drink regular tea but since gettng back into weightlifting they seem far and few now maybe better blood flow and the taking the fish oil helps too but I think it's time to go back to decaff.

Thanks Throttle for your concern appreciate it.

People cycle roids for this very reason. You go on a cycle, then you go off for a time to let your body produce it normally. When it does, you go back on again.

People who go on longer than they should will have problems with the endocrine system messing up various hormones. Namely reducing test production, and increasing estrogen production. Gyno anyone?

You forgot to add in foods that help out test production.

Namely ones that are high in zinc.

Those all block the estrogen form having effect. That's all.

It does not change the rate of production of test.

What if you knew the FDA is the one who has been putting all these pesticides since WW2, causing the problem in the first place.
