What gave rise to this post relates to the belief MANY guys have concerning looks and that "water finds its level." That looks of an 8 match with another 8 or 7.5. That you might date TO YOUR level, but never above that by much.
But isn't BEAUTY in the EYE of the beholder?
Who are we, and how do we judge our looks based on EVERYONE else?
What is the self? Is it merely the projection of the ego ******d as it relates to our inner feelings? Is the body physical and permanent, or fleeting and always changing?
However PEOPLE aren't just bodies. In fact, quite the opposite. We're the mind, mental, and that mental mind is the projection ******D that the world see's. A person who is by habit messy, has a messy mind in how they organize their internal world. But we're not automatons.
The same applies to women. There are HOT girls who are totally ghetto, gangsta, or skankalicious. Their looks, while you might rate BELOW you, aren't necessarily a factor to them when finding a guy. Likewise, we've all met the war pig with a supposedly healthy self image, who LOVES being a BBW, and would look down upon you, EVEN if you were a 10x10. Or perfect man species.
We hear girls say, "I like big guys," and then they don't them. Or women who date scrawny guys, or punk guys, or emo guys, or pudgy guys, or beefy guys. I know girls who are 9's+ dating guys you'd never think physically would nail these girls, but the guys are prison guards, with lots in common.
No, most notorious in female selection habits, aside from the masculine tendency is MORE something replicative of their home life, their father, and how their marriage is. For guys wanting women who just one night stands and no committment, then your typical broken home girl might suffice. A guy wanting something longer term though, would defer to DADDY's girl, but be warned, SHE WILL EXPECT alot, and give alot. She will expect protection, you to be there, for you to listen while she blathers on about everything and nothing.
Looks are JUST one piece, but there's MANY failed opportunities on my part when I was younger because I felt not in their league, or not of my type. Year's later I'd found out there was a HUGE mutual attraction, and would have made for an incredible relationship! Don't fall into that trap!
If your heart TRULY sings out, be foolish, be forthright, be aggressive, be positive, be willing to lose, and to win. Don't walk around seeking to MINIMIZE risk here. There's NO RISK, except that risk that you don't LIVE FULLY. That you have REGRETS! That's it.

Looks are NO connection. I knew a girl who was a "cutter" in her youth. Her dad had died right before her eyes, her mom sank into depression, and took the depression out on her kids, and her. Namely I wouldn't be involved, but she was AWARE of the problem, and this girl OVERALL had the best spirit you'd ever meet. Happy, giving, down to earth, fun, sexy, a party girl, drinks beer, dedicated, and in bed, perfect. We dated awhile, but her self image WAS shot. She'd rarely wear truly sexy clothes, though she could, and she felt 'honored' to date me. Bogus, totally, and I hate that.
YOU WANT A GIRL with a good self image, but not 1 way out of whack. Eventually her looks fade, and basically she's using YOUTH to MAKE a deal of a lifetime to be financially set for her gene pool, because come hell or high water, the only thing stopping nature are the Dr's, and even then, she'll eventually succumb to nature. It's inevitable.
