I have recently been hearing many rumors on the topic of Neil Strauss' famous/infamous book "The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists" might be turned into a novel......He himself even says it on the last few pages of the novel. Here is some veritifible proof that plans for this have already been set in motion (check out the reference links):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Game:_Penetrating_the_Secret_Society_of_Pickup_Artists

On the other hand, I have heard other rumors saying that production plans for the movie have been terminated for various undisclosed reasons..........

What do you gouys think about all this? If it is in fact released it would be cause even more over-exposore to the seduction community ------> Moreso than even "Vh1's: The Pickup Artist" (which is up for another season, by the way). Do think that the release of this movie into the mainstream auidience would be the final nail in the coffin bringing the seduction community down to its knees or do you think that it would just be an extremely uplifting / motivational movie that you would enjoy watching solely for its entertainment value?

Wouldn't it be funny if it became a huge blockbuster tho?

Being a PUA could start being FASHIONABLE.

No way would Hollywood ever let a movie based on this book get released that was a fair and uplifting portrayel.

Rather it would probably star Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson as huge AFC's getting into zany situations with women that ultimately failed them using the books advice and then they'd be portrayed as having the most success by "just being themselves".

It'd be directed by the Farrelly brothers for added comedic oomph.

So it'd be just another worthless romantic comedy.

You know what, I don't really care. All this critizism concerning the PU-community doesn't apply to the idea of a DJ as stated by pook, fingers and others. I think this site is ahead of "just PU". A DJ shouldn't fall into the "women are just obejcts", "i'm bitter and cry all day about feminism" or "PU is my whole life" trap.

And since we are not just player or PUAs but rather try to make things more natural and live the lifes we want, it's not going to affect us. Making PU more public is not going to hurt us. Nobody knows that we are DJS or do they? We just have certain... natural taits... :D

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

Wasn’t that essentially what happened to Neil Strauss; he got the girl he got in the end by giving up the PUA shtick and just being himself?

Even the ending of Strauss own book wasn't that uplifting at the end, at least not in terms of being a PUA. It kinda started to head in the direction of him seeing the light and deciding that being in love with one girl was really the way to go. He kind of went AFC and was "seeing the light" on all the stuff he'd learn when he fell for the chick in Courtney Love's band.

So you're right, it will probably go that same route. (make it sound like being AFC is true love)

FYI- I didn't read the link that was posted, because I already knew that Sony (I think) has had the movie rights to this for 3 or 4 years now, and I had heard the same-that there are no immediate plans to make into a movie.

Also, I don't know how many of you have actually read the book, but it's pretty good, if for no other reason than entertainment purposes alone. It's a little long (I wanna say 350 pages), and by about page 275 or so, I was ready for it to end. It could have used a little more editing. But I can't slam on it, because it's on a very exclusive list with me, being a book that was so interesting that I finished in about a day or day and half (I can say there have only been about 3 or 4 books I've done this with).

It's not a "how to" book, but for anyone knew to the site, this stuff will make a more sense after you read it. And even if you already know it, I highly recommend it.

The other day I actually ran into some PUA's at my school. I was shocked because I thought I was the only one at school who would know about guys like David DeAngelo, Neil Straus, Style and others.

They had downloaded "the game" and October Man Sequence long before Dr. Phil exposed all that stuff. They said they would give me the PUA books but I told them I would stick to my DJ laurels. I even demonstrated some DJ things in front of 1 of these PUA's and he liked what he saw when I was sarging on this one chick.

They can show the WHOLE world the secrets of PUA, but it will never change the fact that it's all just tricks and techniques that a truly strong and charismatic person does not need.

They are just trying to make money and could care less if it goes mainstream.

The key to being Don Juan is keeping you power and value. Once you do that, you've mastered a incredible part of what it is to be a DJ. No one defines you, no one controls your emotions, and women earn a spot in your life.

Who cares about PUA? It's just a bunch of check lists that really don't help people get down to the deeper issues that will help men become REAL mean.

It would make a good comedy, like many other geek to sheik type stories. I mean take a look at these clowns, it's funny enough just as it is, imagine the spin Hollywood could put on a bunch of nerds sitting around on the internet talking about "magic secrets to seduce women", while atheletes just walk around nailing the chicks these clowns worship without ever thinking about it, then they could do a scene where one of them picks up lil Neil by the wedgie and dunks his head in the toliot bowl, takes his girl, and screws her in the parking lot. ha. Great stuff.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

I agree. I was thinking something along the lines of Swingers... mostly comedy with some serious parts mixed in. I can't see anyone taking this seriously. Then again, "Staying Alive" was done in a dramatic style, and pretty lame in terms of subject matter, and that movie was huge. So who knows.

Not only that, but as anyone here can attest, this stuff still takes work. And most people just won't do it or try it.

As an example, there are 20 different people on infomercials with programs on how to make money in real estate, purchasing foreclosed properties, etc. It's a proven fact that this can and does work, people have been doing it for years-but how many people actually pursue it to the point where they stick with, get better at it, and make money at it?

Very few.

The average person is intrigued by instant results and gimmicks, and either won't have the guts to apply the stuff or will just give up.

Heh, kind of what I was thinking. It's not like this "PUA community" is going around and stealing all the women. There is no special magic we learn here that's a "secret" which needs to be kept out of movie themes.

Aren't you the dramatic one? You may have a future in screen writing!

Anyhow, nah.... I don't think a movie would have much of any impact. Just look at previous big hit film releases throughout history and their lack of impact on society:

1956 THE TEN COMMANDMENTS - No mass conversions to Judaism.

1961 KING OF KINGS - No mass conversions to Christianity.

1982 GHANDI - No mass conversions to Easter Religions.

1982 TOOTSIE - No mass conversions to drag queens vying for soap opera roles.

Wasn’t that essentially what happened to Neil Strauss; he got the girl he got in the end by giving up the PUA shtick and just being himself?
The story goes she played hard to get, not yielding to his tactics, and eventually hooked up with him.

The woman in question was Hole's guitar player, so she got to know Strauss through Courtney Love, who had gotten into Mystery's social network. It's not like Neil picked her up one night at some L.A. club using the My-Friend-Has-A-Gay-Cat Opener.

But they broke up some time ago.

And that's the thing I get from reading "The Game": that for all their PU techniques, they hook up with the wrong women just because they're hot, and don't know sh!t about keeping a woman and so though it's organized to showcase the different techniques, it's actually an unintentional journal of all their errors.

Rather it would probably star Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson as huge AFC's getting into zany situations with women that ultimately failed them using the books advice and then they'd be portrayed as having the most success by "just being themselves".
That's a great idea, but I like "The Nutty Professor" better.

a movie like this is a PERFECT thing for the community.

Just take your date to this movie and when she laughs and says "that'd never work on me" tell her "Oh, it worked on you baby... and you love every minute of it!"

Well if it helps to destroy those social robots running crazy out there trying to pick up women, I'm all for it.

Woman spin my mind as it is lol.
Sigh.
I think the reason you're worried is because you still view this as "seduction material" rather than it being "your material". If you create your own identity, stories, jokes and style, people won't be perceptive enough to realize that its the same thing the guys who wrote these books are doing.

Also you are seeing women as the prize because you see them as a puzzle to figure out (spinning your mind). They need your validation, you do not need theirs, so stop trying to figure them out and let them figure you out. =)

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.
