My Senior Year in High School is slowly passing by quicker than I had expected. Since eighth grade I could not wait until I graduate High School, and attend university! I anticipated independence from my parents in a healthy social and academic environment to grow and mature into a strong (mentally and physically) man. I had a plan; I was set for life, I thought.

To be honest, now, I am scared ****less; as my heart beats faster with excitement... It's ironic; I am happy, yet scared. I can't stand living with my parents. I want to be independent; rich and successful. I want to live the LIFE!

I am battling an internal conflict of pursing a lucrative career for only one reason--to earn millions; or pursue my a career I have always found interest in since ninth grade that is not as lucrative.

Though, I am hooked onto both careers; the challenge to succeed in either career drives me.

A career in Business (I-banking; or anything that relates to investments) versus a career in Law. I am not too crazy about mathematics, a skill necessary to become a very successful businessman. I have to spend more time in that subject to master it, as opposed to law-related work. I have a natural gift in debating, etc. Though, I am also gifted with a business sense.

It is inherently split down the middle.

Once I figure this problem out, I will be able to handle other situations that may present itself as time goes on.

Umm, yeah.

Well, neither of those career options sound interesting to me. I'm a computer kind of guy personally.

What are you scared of?

When I was in my second semester as a Senior in high school, I was counting down the days. I didn't even attend my own graduation because I wanted to be done with it ASAP.

As far as career choice you have to decide sometime. Decide now. You do have some freedom in that the first year of college is similar for most college students, so you can even decide to make up your mind then. Of course, I strongly urge you to decide quickly, because it means less time, money, and effort wasted.

Also think about: What kind of things do I want to do? Do they require money? If so, is it worth it to give up those things to take another job you think you'll like better, but pays less?

I came to my decision! I will go into the field of law; most likely corporate.

I always thought it'd be exciting to be a mercenary.

I'm now in 2nd year at university previously doing actuary/law now actuary/finance. Reason for the change was because I liked the business side of things a lot more than legal.

There'll be a time when you realize what you really want in life. Best of luck!

Good luck, I hope you've got strong values;)

Being in law and being good at it calls for you to have an extreme sense of self. You've got to be able to drop everything you know to know what is going on...

Be prepared to twist stories, hold back truths, and judge people like you've never done before.

Being corporate is a step above regular law, you become a lacky, forcably(sp?) a yes man, and you don't have the choice of 'speaking' to your client before taking on his case... You will get great benefits and be allowed to study into the background prior to any situations arise.

So what industry field are you hoping to cover, and why?
