Chicks are just so fvcking catty! But before I go into the events from last night, I have to go back about 3 years...

I met a couple of sisters at my regular hangout, one married and one single. They started coming to my hangout on a regular basis. The single one has expressed interest in me, but I never found her attractive and never pursued her. The married one has also made it obvious that she's interested in me and would likely pursue me if it weren't for her wimpy husband.

Anyway, the married one posted some pictures on Facebook of a Christmas gathering she attended. I picked out one girl I found attractive and started inquiring about her. She told me she'd let me know when this girl was going to be at another gathering and would invite me.

A few months later, she hosted a bonfire at her house and invited me, mainly because this chick was going to be there. Over the course of the evening, I became one of the more interesting people at the party, and eventually made a seat next to the girl I was interested in. I struck up a conversation with her, and told her I was going to add her on FB, which I did.

I started messaging her and built up a really good rapport with her. She's about three years younger than me (in her mid-30s), but made it a goal to avoid telling me her age. I got her number and asked her out on a date, which she accepted. The date went pretty good up until near the end. She told me she was going to go home and shower, and I teased her about how she came out with me all dirty. Bam, she took that joke as an insult. I noticed her personality changed from that point, and the drive back to her place wasn't full of that good rapport we had up until that point. However, sometimes you can't tell what's wrong with a chick, so I didn't take it too seriously. Maybe her period started or she was hangry or something.

I messaged her over the next few days and asked her out on another date. 24 hours went by before I got a response along the lines of "I don't really go out" or some bull5hit like that. At that moment, I wrote her off and moved on.

Now, I ended up making friends with pretty much everyone at that bonfire. I started getting invited out to multiple gatherings hosted by different people in this social circle. I would see that chick at many of them, and I was always pleasant to her, and she was to me as well. We never spoke again of the date and rightly so; Nothing happened from it.

Another woman popped into this social circle. She's older and ugly as fvck, but I'm never one to avoid someone because of their appearance. She found me interesting and attractive, and became a bit flirty with me. I never expressed interest in her, but was always friendly.

So now we come to last night. I get invited to another gathering by one of the married people in the group. I ask if I can bring my GF, and she said "Sure! It would be great to meet her!" So that's what I did. Both the one-date-wonder and the ugly one showed up at this gathering. I never told my GF that I went out with the one chick because it's insignificant. She rejected me, so I moved on while she remained single. (As a side note, she lives with her three cats).

Women are so fvcking interesting. My girlfriend ended up being seated beside the one-date-wonder. Almost instantly, there was tension between the two. A comment about the TV show 'The Simpsons' was brought up, and I said to my GF "Yeah, you grew up with the CRAPPY version of The Simpsons". The one-date-wonder asked my GF how old she was, to which she replied 24. "OH WOW!" exclaimed the one-date-wonder.

The ugly old chick was sitting on the other side of the room, barely saying two words to anybody including me which is VERY unusual for her.

We ended up playing the party game "Boxers or Briefs". For those of you who don't know, it's a game where you have a handful of cards with statements on it. Another player rolls a die, and you have to pick a line from one of the cards that corresponds with the die. The statement must be funny or true, and you give your card of choice to the player who reads them after all the cards are collected (in order to keep it anonymous)

When it was my turn, I ended up with a card that had an extremely distasteful statement on it. The line was "I wish I were single again". My GF was none too pleased, and I was surprised that someone had the ba11s to choose that one. Now, I could have chosen the card as the "funny" statement and ratted out the person who gave it to me, but I didn't. Therefore, the statement remained anonymous.

On the drive home, my GF went on about someone choosing that card. "It was probably that (one-date-wonder) chick who chose that. She seems like that type". I'm guessing it was her who chose it as well.

The behaviour of women just fascinates the 5hit out of me. That fvcking one-date-wonder really seemed to be stewing in her jealousy all evening. She took a joke the wrong way, played me off, and now she's all fvcking pissed that she lost out to someone over a decade younger than her.

And that's why she's sleeping with three cats instead of sleeping with me.

and the super hilarious part is that she tells everyone it's all you. imagine the conversation with one and/or many of the people in that social circle. "He said this, he said that, what a pig!" Instead of owning up to her own hangups, she'd rather pin it all on you and wash her hands of it. I've noticed this with most woman, pretty much all, they completely avoid responsibility for anything. They pin it all on someone else and walk away. Then they scratch their heads years later, still wondering why the same things are happening to them. It's truly amazing that they don't and/or can't make the connection between the way that they behave and the responses from people, especially men, that they get. It's like the memory banks get flushed every time they have an interaction where they could take responsibility for their own actions and instead of looking for ways to improve themselves or make their interactions better quality, they blame everyone and everything around them.

It truly is like a little child. I had way different expectations of women and relationships when I was younger. That dam disney, he really sold all of us men a collective bill of goods.

im asking what her behavior was like. anything noticably different?
She was just irked that someone played that card and is pretty sure that the one-date-wonder played it. Other than that, nothing unusual.

She's used to other women being interested in me. She watched me go through three other women before I agreed to date her.

Des did you go on that date with this girl during your current relationship? If you did you weren't worried it would somehow get out to your current girlfriend?

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

I consider you a high level poster and a guy who I can tell has a lot of real world experience with women and yet you still got ghosted by a stupid chick. This also happens to me and it is bothersome. I am sure you did most things correctly on that date. How does your inner game handle this weird capricious behavior of the one date wonder? How do you not let it bother you?

My friend and I have this theory about girls like the one date wonder. We noticed that girls like that do that nonsense to most guys. It doesn't matter whether the guy is quality or not. Girls that randomly go cold on guys ( quality guys) are usually perpetually single. But the girls that accept us, and commit to us, even if it doesn't work out are usually in good relationships down the road. Girls that are random and hard to read are usually perpetually single. What do you think about that theory?

No I did not.

It just doesn't. I didn't develop any feelings for her, so why would it bother me? I didn't fvck her, I didn't kiss her, I didn't hold her hand. She simply remained a "friend". It's probably due to me dating a lot of women. I have a few one-date-wonders in my past, and I've learned that you're only "in" once you get past the first date. I don't remember ever having a two-date-wonder. It's either one date, or many dates.

I somewhat agree with that. I'm more of the opinion that it has to do with the girl's age and/or experience. Women who've dated a lot of men won't stick. Women who are older may not stick either. This chick was in her mid-30s. She probably has dated a lot of men and has become jaded by them. That's why she has 3 cats. They give her unconditional love.

Women like this are looking for their soulmate. They want a guy who will make her feel those deep emotions, much like the first guy they fell hard for. Women who are older and/or highly experienced are a much harder egg to crack when you're trying to make an emotional impact. The fact that I've dated her once and am now dating someone over a decade younger than her (who obviously displayed that she's highly attracted to me) has probably made enough of an emotional impact for her to try dating me again should I become single.

Every time I become single after a long term relationship, I get bombarded by women who want to date me. Unfortunately, it's usually women I want nothing to do with.

i was hoping youd provide some insight into whether you noticed her to be turned on by the competition. a guy thats been in the game as long as you probably doesnt pay much conscious attention to such things anymore. i know i barely do unless i stop to think about it
I don't believe that competition turns women on. I believe it makes them fiercely protect their men from other bytches. Women can be very territorial when it comes to their men.

This was the mistake I made with my ex-wife. I mistook competitiveness for attraction.

IMO the smart women doesn't get territorial about her man. She doesn't get bytchy or fearful or protective if she senses possible competition. The smart woman will sit back, wait and watch. She's going to look for allegiance and loyalty knowing that, if she doesn't automatically get this, she's better off walking b/c she's with a guy that doesn't value the relationship.

There's never a need to openly 'claim' a man as your 'territory'. He either wants to be with you, and faithful, or he can eliminate himself.

I once had two women fight over who was going to sleep in my bed with me. One literally pushed the other one out of the way to get into my room. In the end, she really didn't care if she actually won me. All she cared about was winning over the other chick. I actually ended up dating the other chick who WAS genuinely attracted to me.

It's really easy to confuse competition for attraction. I honestly believe that was the only reason I ended up with my ex-wife. She won out over all the other women who were interested in me, and then didn't bother with me after the ring was on her finger.

I too think some competition = attraction, but some competition = validation seeking ( I got the guy that someone else wanted).

I used to watch the Bachelor. One high value man with 20 women competing for his proposal. If I had a dollar for every time one of the women referred to whole thing as winning, " I'm going to win this". Not him, the game. That validation of beating out 19 other attractive women is what mattered most.

No surprise that 99% of these bachelor couples break up within two years.

That said, being with a guy that other girls find attractive does feel good. It's a combination of validation / attraction and appreciation for the guy. Keeps you motivated to stay in shape and do all the little extras that they like. And when the guy in turn shows appreciation for that, you got a keeper.
