doesnt exist. I think everything works with consistency, but the average Joe Schmo has problems finding an Ab routine they will stick to for an extended period of time. For you gym rats who have chizzled abs and no problem doing your abs 5 days a week, kudo's to you, but my upcomming reccomendation may not matter to you.

My suggestion is 6 second abs

People will try to preach, "you can find 8 minutes out of your day to get down and do some crunches", but for many Joe Schmos it's not that they dont have the time but they choose not to squeeze this into watching TV time every day, as it's not as pleasant feeling as sitting and watching ESPN. You can watch ESPN, and actually get carried away into what is happening on TV while subconsiously doing this ab workout. It takes that little effort and on top of that astonishing fact that is probably making you think it must not be very effective, it is THE most effective ab workout Ive come across. You will see results within 1 week, it will not only work out your abs, but you will get that V-shape girls love under your lower abs, and get an oveall perfect 6 pack. I was once told that not everyone can get a nice 6-pack and genetics had a lot to do with it. I once thought that was probably true for me. But Ive been using this thing no less than 5 days a week for 6 months and I really have some great abs(strength and appearancewise)

Like I said, my theory is any ab workout will work, but the key is finding one YOU will stick with. This is an ab workout that I guarantee YOU will stick with, with no money-driven motivation towards doing so just trying to help some people out with a GREAT thing I discovered for myself.

Hope this doesnt sound like Im trying to sell the damn product, but it is something that WILL work and something that I guarantee 9/10 people would stick to the way I have. Once you try it a few times you will need no more convincing, if not after 1 use. But anyways if anyone is interested I believe they cost about $60 at Target.

I know some have probably seen the infomercials, but does anyone else have one of these?

The beset Ab workout is....

Brace yourself...

A series of exercises that work all aspects of your abdominals. Wow!

Considering your post itself sounds like an infomercial for the product, I'm resigned to taking it with a grain of salt. Physiologically speaking, when it comes to your abs there are two ways two improve their appearance, and two ways of going about doing it.

1. Increasing size.

You do this by recruiting muscle fiber. My favorite is weighted sit-ups... full range of motion... on a decline bench. Muscle growth is stimulated by muscle fiber recruitment, and muscle fiber recruitment is based on the amount of force necessary to lift, pull, whatever.

2. Reducing BF%

There is so much misinformation about "cutting" that it's rediculous. For the average Joe with average abs, abdominal routines in general aren't enough. There's no such thing as spot reducing. If you want your abs to stand out, you need to lose BF% (increasing size helps too), and to do this, you have to increase calories out over calories in. Eat less, cardio more. In addition, weight lifting increases required caloric intake for maintanence, which can in turn help reduce your BF%.

The only 6 second ab routine I can possibly think of would be doing a 2-rep max weighted sit-up... maybe decline or hanging by your legs, heh. :p

It sounds a bit like an infomercial because I want people to know how well it works. Its obvious I have no benefit to making this thread, so if YOU would like to take it with a grain of salt, go ahead. I said there is no BEST ab workout and I believe the key is staying with it, whatever machine/routine you use. The thing with this product is, it is som, ething that ghey average Joe Schmo who cant stay dedicated to any ab routine, WILL stay dedicated to. Sorry if I came off sounding some other way, but that is it. And if you have not personally tried it, there's not a whole lot I can discuss with you because you have no basic core understanding for the dynamics of it. You use it sitting in a chair upright, so you put no stress on your back, it is called 6 second abs because the reps are 3 seconds down and 3 seconds up, for a 6 second rep. You do 10 reps for each set with 6 different sets that wokrout every aspect of your abs. I also have never come across any other ab wokrout that only takes 10 reps per area, to workout. Since the reps are 6 seconds long, you are holding each crunch, working each muscle slowly and correctly, and giving your abs a great resistence wokrout. It is a weighted crucnh, because the machine you use has resistence weight bands inside it. It sounds a lot more complex than it is, and is very hard to explain, but Im trying to in order to help some people out on a MB where I know this info is useful to everyone here.

Again, you can spit out the same obvious theory to the science of getting abs. You can tell someone, getting big arms is easy you just have to repeatedly tear the muscle tissue so it can rebuild and grow. But does that help anyone? That type of advice doesnt help the type of people who are seeking the advice. That type of advice is for the people already dedicated to getting things done, and they obviously dont need the advice. I am just giving what I have found to be the best way to get Abs, for the guy who is sitting reading this MB in the same shape I was be4 I got on this. This is obviously not you AbAbber and you are obviously one of the ones who doesnt need this recommendation

edit - my bad, thought u meant a 6 second total workout.

that's actually very similar to my routine, only I do 12 sec reps. 4 secs up, 4 secs squeezing the abs at the top, 4 secs down.
