When I was younger and clueless I used to actually feel sorry for some chicks. As time went on I felt sorry for less and less. With the amount of complete fairytale etc. nonsense that's popular these days I feel sorry for no chicks at all. Period.

Watching that short clip is just one reminder of why I don't bother watching TV and could care less about celebrities or the crap the media tries to brainwash sheep with.

The US is slowly but surely going down the sh1tter. The only thing you can do is look at it from an outsiders point of view and shake your head.

The key words being "on the show". You can put a carrot nowadays on reality TV and millions of people will want THAT carrot. It's amazing what an HD camera will do for your image and status. You can now make your own channel on YouTube and you'll be popular if you put on enough bullʂhit. Make a channel and call it "My Quest To Loose Virginity To A Super Model" and people will eat that ʂhit up with a ladle!

True enough. However, part of the reason for the breakup is that there is less incentive to "put on a show" when the cameras turn off too.

The high value point is on the money. I remember reading a study where they did a "reverse" speed dating event. The women switched tables and the men stayed in their places. They found that there were more matches when they did so. Part of the reason is that women in general are more picky and think that they have higher value than a man even within their own league (no surprise really). So when you "create" higher value in the man by making the woman chase him, she is more likely to choose to match with the man.

Of course looks plays a dominant role as always.

I read a study that replicated these findings. However, the theory was that when you take steps to approach something -- like literally walk toward something -- you regard it as worth more than you do if that thing (or person) approaches you.

This is true for both males and females. If you have to walk 10 yards to get a cookie, that cookie will taste better to you than if someone walks 10 yards and hands it to you.

Makes sense. Which is why women go to great lengths to get the man to approach them.
