So, I'm on Adderall for my ADD (and this isnt about if ADD is real or not, or if I should be taking it or not, it works for me), in the past few months I have been taking it, I have lost maybe 15-20 pounds by doing nothing and not having a very good diet.

Anyways, now that its getting nice outside I really want to start working out and eating better. I've already started implementing fruits and veggies and proteins as my main meals and have cut out junk food and fast food.

My question is with adderall being a stimulant is there certain exercises that may be more beneficial? Some more dangerous? I don't want my heart to explode. Also, I can't find a gym here that I can afford. They're all those exclusive clubs designed for women or people who have money.

Any other foods I should look at to benefit my Speed filled body?

Honestly you seem to be thinking right, proteins, fruits, and veggies is a good meal. Try to get good meat like turkey and make sure to take a multi-vit each day (I'd say mega man sport if you want to be more active). Drink plenty of water of course and intake protein (either by meal or powder/shake) after working out.

Is this not a question your doctor couldn't answer?

Yeah, problem being I've never switched my doctor, so I'm still seeing my family practitioner that is at least 30-40 miles from where I live and I'd have to pay my co-pay for him to more than likely say you can work out like normal. He's a crap doctor.

as long as you're taking it as prescribed, there shouldn't be any heart-exploding effects that you wouldn't feel coming from miles away.

as for any advantages, they'd be marginal, and there's no way to specifically take advantage of them. if anything, you have to be just a bit more careful about pushing your heart rate (so HIIT and other regimens that try to push you to a very high % of your max heart rate might be inadvisable).

for gyms, there are lots of places to look -- nearby high schools, community colleges, YMCAs, etc. or, find a commercial gym that has the equipment you need, and see if you can negotiate.

never thought about the high schools or cc's, but the YMCA is just as expensive its like 70 a month here. What exactly is a commercial gym? Like a franchise gym?

a commercial gym is anywhere you can't afford. but some negotiate -- at the margin, you don't really cost them anything extra, especially if you're going to use equipment that sits mostly unused. requires legwork and cajones, though.

ahh so pretty much everywhere for me. lol

I don't know if there is anyone here from Grand Rapids, MI. But times are tough here, more so than the rest of the nation. We have the worst unemployment rate, but to juxtapose it against the rich who live on the outskirts of town and invade everyday it really makes sh1t expensive, yet they don't pay the medium skilled very much above surviving level and rents keep going up and so does everything else. Sorry, I better stop.

Anyway, I might have to see if there are any places that can cut me a deal or get rid of that bullsh1t iniation fee.

try turkey bacon btw its amazing.

a lot of workouts you can do around the house and still get a great workout.

get an exercise band, you can wrap that around a stationary object like a heavy bed and do curls and sit and do rows. You can work your triceps by putting your legs up on a chair and holding your body up with your arms (stomach up) and do dips. There are a number of different workouts just let me know what muscles you want to focus on.

also: try to eat 5-6 "meals" a day (i say to do this but i never have time to but its really good)

And see that is one of my problems. The adderall speeds up my metabolsim so much that I have to force myself to eat anything for most of the day and then it almost makes me sick. I always have something for breakfast and then I'm ready to eat again by 8pm. I'm hoping that changes over time. Also, would working out help balance out the metabolism and make me hungry afterwards?

The thing about Adderall (and Concerta which is what I am on) is that it really decreases your appetite, I have found myself eating a little something around lunch time and then not being hungry until late at night when it wears off and I become incredibly hungry. So try to fit in little meals, not too much to make you sick.

As for the working out, I really don't know exactly for Adderall, I just got done working out and I am not hungry but today I had breakfast for once. Like I said before protein is most important right after you workout because your muscles are recovering and need the protein, so try to get a "meal" in after working out, it can be small too. I recently found that my schools little convenience store thing sells little individual bowls of Kashi GoLean Crunch, I'd recommend picking up a box of it, the servings for the bowls at least are:
260 Calories
4g total fat - 0 sat and 0 trans
50g carbs
11g fiber - 4 soluble 7 insoluble
13g protein

These are great cause they've got low fat, very high fiber, high protein, and high carbs for a workout. I try to just eat these every few hours now.
