Have you ever noticed at the gym, the biggest/baddest dudes you think would have some attitude, do not have a mean bone in their body?

I've noticed this with myself and about others at the gym who work out seriously and consistantly.

I call it Testosterone Depletion. When working hard at the gym, you are using up Testosterone to build muscles. After the workout and while out and about, you are complacent, content and reserved.

If you are having sex or jacking it often while working out regularly, you don't have that *drive* to get girls. You want them, but are not taking action.

You regenerate, but only to use it up at the gym again.

Why is it guys who don't work out are usually more active than guys who do work out (outside the gym)? It is because they haven't used up their Testosterone in the gym and remain more active, less complacent, and taking more risks (less reserved).

How do you use this to your advantage? What i found out works, is not to jack it or have sex more than once a week. It will keep a healthy sex drive while increasing your performance at the gym.

If you are not a single guy, then this advice isn't much useful other than improving your gym performance.

Yeah, it does, but only to be depleted the next time around.

If you are lifting really heavy and keep moving up, it is noticable that you are using alot of Testosterone in the gym. Any raise in levels are used to up the ante.

If you are not working out regularly or building to your full potential, then is likely you aren't feeling the effects outside the gym so-to-speak.

I'm talking naturally and not being on Steroids. With Steroids, you have an overbundance, and are high-strung in and out of the gym.

I know you all thing testoterone is the end all be all. You know what gets you to approach girls, inner confidence and WILL POWER. Not testoterone.

You may be right Bling, but ultimately, it is your need for sex that gets you approaching girls.

The need for sex stems from sex drive, and sex drive stems from Testostorone. Increased Testostorone is an increase in sex drive. It is what drives the Male to mate with the Female. It is an 'agression' chemical.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

as well as a confidence chemical. Testosterone is the chemical in all human beings that allows them do take risks. And testosterone is in ALL human beings. Men much more, and for good reason.

Testosterone is not depleted by jacking off. Please try as hard as possible to not present some scientificaly unfounded pbservations as proven , scientificaly studied Facts.

It is not "depleted" at all. You only have lower levels, or you can raise levels. You do not LOSE Test when working out. While working out intensely. You may lower your Immune System if your workouts are too intense, in which case you may not raise T levels sufficiently enough to gain benefit from them.

You only produce what you can if you have sufficient amounts of substrates necessary to produce them.
There is no evidence to your theories at all. You seem to be operating on some fallacies as nothing in your "advice" makes sense scientifically whatsoever.Testosterone is produced in men by the Testes, and to a lesser degree by the adrenal glands. It is then released into the circulation. Your ejaculate will not contain Test, therefore, masturbation cannot lower T levels. Since they are not present in your ejaculate. After clmaxing, the brain releases certain brain chemicals which signal the man's brain to relax. Hence the complacency felt after orgasm. It has nothing to do with somehow a "boogie man" stealing your Test.
Working out produces Testosterone, not depletes it. You do not USE T in working out. You use BCAAs, glycogen, ATP, and other substances, not Test. The synergy of muscular contractions, and the release of these chemicals in blood steam signals the the pituitary gland to start the T level cascade.
You can raise T levels, but things like smoking, poor nutrition, too much alchohol, prescription medication side effects, too much stres, poor circulation, high blood pressure, low nutritional substrates (EFAs, Zinc, Magnesium, and some Copper) and obesity lower T levels.

Test can raise aggression,. However, you may be viewing peoplw who have excess T because of Steroid use. In which T levels are in excess and the symptoms and benefits are in excess as well.
I don't agree that guys who don't work out are more active. In fact I think it is total BS. I find it to be the total OPPOSITE.
Inactive, Fat guys produce excess Estrogen. Not enough Test. ANd seentary, ummotivated, efemmintat fat guys are the ones who are although extremely insecure, aggressive in extremes due to emotional imbalances, and they are less likely to do manly things like take risks like sky diving or mountain climbing.
Most of the guys who I know in the gym who are considered (like myself) more muscular than average are not that aggressive or violent.
They feel confident enough that they do not equate aggressiveness or violence exhibitionism as neccessary to show others their Masculinity.

In fact, besides myself, the 5 other biggest guys I know in my gym all train Boxing, and MMA and we can all destroy the average male in seconds. I know I can beat the sh*t out of someone, but I don't feel the need to show it, like my friends, whom happen to be (like me) some of the biggest muscular guys in the gym. I know for a fact that I am not somehow less masculine, or more effeminate, or am "Testosterone Depleted".
Taling about risk taking, or complacency, or the "drive" ot get girls is all psychological, in the sense that it is one's attitude. It is not directly due to T levels. it is true that sufficent T levels in a man produces a noticeable effect on a Man's brain chemistry and physiology. That's why it' s important to recognize it's value, and how to maintain it.
But it's also very important to stop the spread of false pseudo science, and taboo masturbatory conditioning, to possibly very impressionable, and ignorant young men out there who may ignorantly follow this so called "advice".

It doesn't have to be scientifically correct Interceptor, I did not state as fact but as an observation based on my own experience.

Just because it is not a 'scientifc fact' does not mean it is not true. I'm sure lots of guys can attest to this. It does not mean you are less masculine (nor did i impy this), just saying much of it can be used up in the gym if working out consistantly.

I too happen to be one of the biggest and most ripped guys at the gym. I'm all natural, yet, many people think i could be taking Steroids. I don't believe in short-cuts but working hard and hard work does pay off.

I'm not talking about having the energy to beat the shyte out of someone. Of course, this creates Adrenaline, much different from Testosterone.

Jacking it and having lots of sex does lower your drive (and i'm linking drive/aggression to Testosterone). This again may not be scientifically stated, but what is in the health/medical world? It is all theories in the health world. Everyone is an expert and they all disagree on many things. It is not science. Science is science.

If i followed all these theories on how to 'get big', i wouldn't be as big and ripped as i am now. I did what works best for me to attain this goal. Many of these 'theories' are based on training workouts with guys using Steroids.

Why? Because not many people can get big and ripped naturally. Notice i said big and ripped, not a weight-lifters build, but attaining a body-builders build at a larger size.

I can talk all day about ATP, Glycogen etc. It doesn't negate what i said earlier and has no 'scientific proof' that my assertiions are not correct. You are just spewing off what is in alot of magazines, a dime a dozen.

You sound like the ignorant one.

Yeah, come to think of it, you're right. I should have never even bothered to waste my time on you.
Forget what I said in my post. You stick to your observations.
Thanks.

You do that Master Bates. Judging by your quote or one you have chosen, is obvious you are a mental midget.

I don't have time for mental midgets, if you can write legibly and intelligently with some good points that support your conclusions while bashing mine, then i can respect that.

Talking about fat guys producing Estrogen LOL, yeah, sure. I'm not going to even begin tearing apart any other part of that post which is full of idiocricies. Everyone is an expert (or least those guys with something to prove).

The acute & chronic responses of testosterone are influenced by age, training experience and sex and as such you should differentiate between these when relating to testosterone and exercise. The likely hypothesis for below average testosterone levels during rest is related to Newsholme et al. central fatigue theory. The release of Serotonin during and following exhaustive exercise is thought to inhibit testosterone release through actions upon the pituitary and hypothalamic areas of the brain. As testosterone release is elevated during exercise, this is probably a safety mechanism in an attempt to avoid exhaustion of the body`s resources.

It wouldn`t be practical for the body to produce higher than average levels of testosterone for a prolonged period of time for the obvious reason above, and as such it is not advisable to attempt to do so. It is possible to elicit a favorable hormonal environment through diet manipulation but again these effects are acute and not chronic.

You should not view testosterone as the single most important hormone that will influence performance, Human growth hormone, insulin growth factors etc are all vitally important and interdependent upon one another with similar actions & responses. It`s s a real complex area with many considerations to account for; one thing is for certain though - be careful when thinking of altering biological responses!

It´s important not to ignore cortisol, particulary in resistance training because one of its roles is to increase protein degredation and decrease protein synthesis. Training protocols with high volume, moderate to high intensity and short rest periods have been shown to have elicit the greatest acute cortisol response.

Research by Kraemer et al. and Tarpenning et al. has shown that carbohydrate supplementation may reduce acute cortisol levels following resistance training.

In addition, resting cortisol levels and testosterone/cortisol ratio have been used to identify overtraining as changes in the ratio indicate a potential state of anabolism/catabolism.

I disagree man. I could f.uck for hours on end, multiple times after coming outa the gym. And whether big guys are agressive or not has nothing to do with testosterone, its to due with social norms...ie. being aggressive for the sake of it is pointless...I'm sure if you started sh.it with one of those guys though they wouldn't be laid back....you'd probaby get your arse kicked.

Just lift, sleep, eat and f.uck. And thats it. If I could go through my whole life just doing that I'd be wildly happy

edit: I now feel somewhat unintelligent after reading some replies in this post...ah well....thats my £0.02

You're the dipsh*t making scientific claims with no basis whatsoever. Go get your endocrinology degree, then come back and educate people on hormones. Until then, keep your idiotic armchair theories on testosterone to yourself.

The quote is Alexander Graham Bell, by the way. You know.....a real scientist. You're a nobody. Big difference.

* shakes head * lol. In my post, was it stated that i was making a scientific claim??? Jeeze, you can't be that stupid.

It was a post offering a tip to help others who may have experienced something similar and what worked for me to alleviate that. Science doesn't have a dam thing to do with it. If you are trying to use science to prove the post wrong, then by all means, come up with something as detailed and credible as Rudra's post to support that.

If you can't prove that having lots of sex AND working out consistantly at a high level AND/OR Jacking it does not lessen your drive, then your claims are not *scientific* either (which has nothing to do with the post in the first place).

By the way, Alexander Grahm Bell was not a scientist. Carl Sagan was a scientist. See the difference? Alexandar was an inventor.

Grow up.

It may not be T levels but instead exhaustion. If you are over-tired, you are low on energy to go out after getting out of the gym and need to recover. I suggest hitting an extra hour of sleep to help with recovery. If you are having problems with your libido, meaning sexual desire or interest, I recommend the following natural supplements for 6 weeks. If this doesn't help, see a doctor.:

Ginseng
Zinc
Maca Root
Horny Goat Weed
Tribulus

working out makes me really horny. it raises slowly throughout the workout, but by the time i'm home, i want to fukk the sh!t out of anything. i am like a wild beast. in fact, i've had to control myself lately since that in and of itself has been making me get to work really late. this is unlike before i work out, when i am tired and sluggish. so it would not make sense that something is being depleted. for me, it'd have to be the opposite.

Good points, i'm a where-wolf to0 after working out, but subsides after a couple of hours.

If i'm not having sex regularly or jacking it, my levels are through the roof .. much more 'through put' and finishing off heavy reps at the gym etc.
