Am I the only one who is disgusted with men using the term "Old Lady" for their significant others?

An "Old Lady" is a reference to a woman who's looks are well behind her, and is possibly going through menopause. I find this term to be an absolute insult.

When I was with my ex, we knew a guy (actually, he wanted to get with my ex) who, when referring to my gf, would refer to her as my "old lady". It used to offend me. For one, she wasn't old. For two, she was very attractive and had nice big tits that didn't sag.

Another term that I really hate is "The Boss". Guys will say "I have to ask the boss if I can come out". That term just tells you who wears the pants in the relationship, and that the man is no longer in posession of his penis. She has cut it off and chained it to the bedpost, and has the keys hidden in her brassiere.

Any other terms out there, or thoughts on these two?

Boss is the worst, old lady could be tied for first. Gotta check with the wife, one of the worst slogans out there. My "better half" is total AFC as it implies that the man is the worst part of a whole. God our society is AFC ... I think I'm gonna go puke.

I think I'll just say, "Me and the sex goddess are going out tonight" to turn the tables on these married AFCs!

Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that statement if it's for the purpose of planning around each others' schedules. However, if it's to get permission, that's where the problem comes in.

Correct Des, actually the worst slogan is, "Gotta check with the BOSS."

Now that makes me puke.

EXACTLY!

Also, if it involves $$$ (I mean, if both are working and they have combined incomes the respectful thing would be to consult with your partner on the $$$ issue).

Having some consideration and acting out of fairness for a wife does NOT make that man an AFC. It makes him a PARTNER.

And it comes down to that in a marriage...PARTNERSHIP.

I agree 100% with the "old lady" and "the boss" remarks. Both are PATHETIC!

So true...our society seems to become more and more predicated on the functioning of the female as the "Boss" in the relationship. Why? Because she has the pvssy? If that's the case in the relationship something is seriously wrong. Ergo, divorce rate upwards of 50% in the US. Hmmm...sounds like deeper issues. :(

In Anthony Robbins book Awaken the Giant Within he discusses nicknames and the effect they have. He says he came across a woman who referred to her husband as the Prince of Darkness (from memory).

I suppose its politically incorrect to refer to your wife as the "ball and chain" now.

I had a guy tell me this just this week. It was a guy I've only known for a few weeks, but it told me everything I needed to know.

It's interesting how completely the mindset is internalized to such a degree that it becomes a default in conversation. Just this week my wife called me to ask me if it would be OK for her to change her hair color slightly. I related this story to some ladies here at work and they about went into vapor lock. "Boy, you really must lord over her with an iron fist" I hear from the 3 time divorcees. I told them she asks out of respect for me, not in fear of me, but it's like talking to children at this point. I had something similar happen when I got a call at lunch from her a few years back asking if it would be alright if she spent more than $100 on makeup to a similar reaction.

I want to say that most women love to be unconsciously recognized as the 'Boss', but I can't. I'm sure there are a few who relish the power their vaginas have over their thrall husbands, but on some level of consciousness it doesn't sit right with them. Knowing that their men are beholden to their sexuality only makes him a slave of ANY woman's pvssy and in the long term makes him subject to being a less secure prospect.

I had a friend in Reno with an extremely controling wife he'd married while she was a single mommie. He came from a family where his mother ruled the family in a similar way to boot. He was great man in most every other respect; he was responsible, worked his ass off, dedicated himself to improving his home (the guy could build a house on his own if he wanted) and took care of his own sh!t, but was literally on the leash of his wife. However, whenever someone even casually commented on how controling she was or questioned his manhood with regards to her, she'd fight back like a wild animal, holding him up as the last bastion of masculinity and a model for Men everywhere to aspire to. She wanted the guy to be a Man, she wanted to know she had hitched her life's cart to a Man who could take care of business, but because he'd allowed it for so long he was terrified of losing her by going all the way and demanding respect from this otherwise loud-mouthed broad.

I don't think women want to be considered the Boss, it's guys that make her vagina the PRIZE (not necessarily her) who think they have little other choice. A Man who internalizes that he is the Boss, irrespective of ANY woman's vagina is a Man who's security and provisioning cannot be bought off by ANY woman's sexuality.
