Have any of you used this tactic on a HB?
You know she's hot and you've used your skills on her to attract her. You then tell her, that you just want to be friends with her. How do they respond to this? I assume they will want you more?

Not close to you
If they are attracted to you on some level, yes it should work. However I tried this on a chick with low interest level...you could guess the outcome...

I'm not sure I'd do this. If I'm hanging out with a girl, it's obvious that I like her, I definately don't want her thinking I like her as a friend. Unless I don't feel any romance forming between us and I actually do think of her as a friend.

I'm not a big fan of reverse psychology, it can often promote trouble that you don't need, especially if you're goin after a girl who's a thinker. They take it as an insult, such a simple ploy.

I say things like:

"whatever happens I want us to be friends - I value you as friend ABOVE all else"

"I like hanging out with you for your PERSONALITY... even if we werent together Id want you as a friend"

"sometimes I forget were even together, I get along with you so well as a person!"

to my gf.

Jedi mind tricks.

Telling a woman this who is really into you, and sexually attracted will make her want you even more, telling this to a woman who isnt interested in you, and you will land up one of her girlfriends.

Re:

Sometime ago, I had this same debate, and even was able playfully use it in many interactions with women. My buddy and I talked over saying "you're my friend" to a girl we did want, but wanted to chase us, OR, that we did want, but didn't want us explicitly.

Some inherent issues here...

++If dating is about YOU, then you're doing things contrary to that. You're intentions aren't following your actions.

++It sounds MORE wussy to me to deflect the truth of the matter than to walk away if she wants nothing, than to contrive some lines that will psychologically bulldoze her into wanting you more than before.

++If someone likes you, NOTHING you say matters. If someone doesn't like you, NOTHING you say will change that.

Sure if you want to confuse the heck out of a girl you just bonked, or kissed, then fine. But to begin dating someone, say "you're just a friend" sounds wussy and weak. NOT TO MENTION, when you pride the friends things above ALL ELSE, you run the risk of losing her respect since she will feel the friendship matters most and that NO MATTER what, you'll uphold the friendship. Plus, friends screw you more than enemies, so you just set yourself up for a double whammy.

Be not a friend to ASK for what it is you want, and to WALK away from it when it is not given. This type of approaching speaks of "need", a lack of self respect, and a lack of focus. Maybe you'll get what I'm saying.

This trick was used by the character Dex in an early scene of the movie, "The Tao of Steve"

Julie: My last date consisted of a beer and a six pack.

Dex: whoa, i dont know if i'd call this a date.

Julie: No? why not?

Dex: Dating's so tricky, that's all. And you're really cool. You have a great personality. I just don't wanna... I just don't wanna mess up our friendship.

Julie: Friendship? We just met!

Dex: Better safe than sorry.

The next shot shows him lying in bed with her the next morning.:cheer:

You sound a lot like my brother. He's never dated a girl he liked as a person, though :D

I call girls "buddy" all the time and make sure they see me calling guys that too. I tell girls we're "just friends" all the way to balls-deep. I love being completely confusing like that.

Well, if you do decide to try the friend tatic on her, be wary of actually saying the word "friend". In my neck of the woods, saying that instantly points you in the LJBF direction. On the other hand, not saying the word but being a disinterested buddy (of course with a DJ mentality), may turn the tide a bit.
