I know that height isn't a big factor but I was wondering if you guys have noticed that most girls are kind of intimidated by tall guys and that most chicks like guys in the 5'8 to 6'0 range. Look at Johnny Depp, hes only 5'10 and the women love him. Anyway what do you guys think about this? personally im 5'9 and hope I don't grow too much more

Im 6'4 in shoes.

I never really noticed any problem, although I do sense a little feeling of intimidation from alot of the girls I meet. Eventually it becomes just another twig to step over though.

Personaly, I dont think Johnny Depps height has anything to do with him attracting women. Its probably his persona more than anything else. But I understand what your saying.

I read that women usually end with a guy no shorter than them but not more than 10cm (3inches)taller. So if she is 170cm she will likely end up with a guy 170-180cm. So I guys average height is optimal (unless you like tall chicks).

Don't make height an issue and chicks won't.

I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about. I am 5'11 and most woman its seems prefer men that are in the 6'1-6'5 range. Many girls frown upon dating guys shorter than them.


I have rarely seen a guy 3-4 inches shorter than his girlfriend.

Be happy with however tall u grow. Tall is so much better than short for a guy. I'm not sayin it has to affect anything and i dont let it, it's how u deal with it. But thats the thing right there, tall guys dont have to deal with anything, cuz their not "short" .
I say - gimme an f'in break to any of these tall guys who compare their tall woes with short guy woes its not even comparable. Yes im sure it sux to be 6'3'' or 6'5'', but i've never once heard a girl say she can't go out with a guy cuz hes too tall.
But i always here "i cant go out with a guy whos shorter than me" In fact i've had 2 girls actually say that to me in my lifetime.

It does depends on the girl, my ex gf was 2 1/2 inches taller than me, and my current gf is a half inch shorter, so in heels shes anywhere from 2-4 inches taller than me. She doesn't mind, and she even told me she doesnt condiser me short, she thinks 5'4'' is short.

But what i'm gettin at is, short guys have to earn theyre respect, tall guys may look freakishly big and intimidating, but they dont have to earn anything, They command respect just by walkin in to a room, a basketball court, a new school, new job etc etc. i see it all the time. Nobody ever picked on them growin up when they were the tallest kid in the class, or one of the tallest. they never ended up feeling inadequate and shrimpy.

now as an adult, ive come to grips with my height and i couldnt give a rats u know a$$. But i still see how taller girls dismiss me right away. Occasioanally ill get one that sees past it, but they r a rare breed. Short guys r always getting short jokes thrown at them, over something they cant control.

I watched the apprentice one time and their was this really short guy who was like 5'4'', 5'5'' tops. And they all collectively teased him one episode, and trump had to defend him. The guy was ****y, confident, well spoken, not shy at all, and knew his sh*t. and yet he did not earn theyre respect. On one task, trump actually told him, "so and so, im was really impressed." as if a short guy wasnt expected to do so well. Trump never says that to anyone else.

Just look at the powerful men of the world. any shorties? Osama bin laden is 6'6''. Castro - tall. The last several presidents - average to above average, etc. etc.

The short leaders of history were all ruthless dictators with napoleonic complexes - Napolean,hitler,stalin, mussolini, kim jung il, etc. etc.

People dont respect a short man, so the only way they can lead is thru ruthlessness.

True, but its not necessarily the body. Its how the person with the body "feels" about their body.

I know so many girls that would never date "fat" guys, not because their fat, but because of their lack of any freakin confidence in bed or in any other area of their life.

Im a little chubby, but I work out 3 times a week, and run 2 times. I could look better, but im not ashamed of it. It just gives me another twig to hop over.

Okay man, I agree with you that in alot of situations short guys have to do more to earn respect. What im saying is that AVERAGE guys have an advantage with women. I think that it can be an advantage in the longrun not to be tall because guys who aren't really tall have to learn how to earn respect and learn how to have a sense of humor about life, both of these skills are very attractive to women. Also a guys superior height is only going to get him so far, if he doesn't master these skills he's gonna be screwed. Brad Pitt is 6'0, Matthew Mcconaughey is 5'10, and Antonio Banderas is 5'9. These are 3 of the biggest chick magnets today. You don't see any celebrity chick magnets that are 6'5. What im trying to say is that being tall can almost be as much a disadvantage as being short

Training hit the nail on the head. Tall is better than short ultimately. I'm 5'10.5"ish myself and I'm happy with my height, as I find most girls to be in the 5'5" - 5'8" range, so worst case they're just as tall as me with heels on.

A good body matters more than I care to write about though.

I am just saying I've heard/seen girls being attracted specifically to tall guys MANY times. I NEVER heard or seen it as being a disadvantage. That's my experience.

Sorry dude, but I have to disagree mightily with you on some of these points.

I'm pretty short (although I am broad). I carry myself in such a way that no one ever thinks less of me for being short.

I joke about my height and when others do I laugh with genuine appreciation, no one is perfect but onlt those that are secure about their imperfections are cool.

I have found that the people that try to put me down coz I am short are spineless and weak, if they feel the need to attack me coz I am shorter than them I KNOW they have some massive insecurities.

I am accepted in any company, even amoungst hardcore alpha males as an equal. I can walk in a room and demand as much respect as a tall guy.

Hitler was average height at 5,9(for the time). Idi Armin was 6'5, as mentioned Osama 6'6, Saddam 6'1, Ghengis Khan was very tall for his time at around 5'11. Kaiser Wilhelm; tall. King Leopald; tall. Vlad the impaler; tall, Ivan the Terrible; tall...

One the other side of the coin; Delai Lama; short, Motzart; short, Cicero; short, Einstein; short, Alexander the Great; short, Lenin; short, Lord Nelson; short. Shogun Tokugawa; short. Newton; short... Anecdotal evidence suggests that Jesus and Buddah were short...

I seriously doubt that height is that great a factor in greatness or infamy.

The human is a mental animal. Our evolutionary advantage which makes us the dominant animal on this planet is out intelligence and our ability to work together. We stopped evolving to be "bigger" a long time ago and it is now who is smartest and the best communicators who dominate.

You've also got to remember that most of the people you named as short lived quite a while ago when the average height for people was a lot shorter than now.

I've never had a problem with women being "intimidated" by my height and it's not just me either because I see it at uni all the time where the taller guys get the hotter girls.

When I've heard gals talk about tall, what comes out is that they like to feel secure. A tall guy on their side helps them feel this way. Johnny Depp, mentioned earlier, has an assertive attitude, and does not project a lot of insecurity. So, he does not have to fall back on height to project security and confidence.

What I've noticed playing out is that being shorter than the gal can be an issue. Usually, if she can wear heels, and not look down on you, then you are doing OK. It's usually the guy that's sensitive to height. Then, he comes off as being needy, assured, etc.

I'm 5'10.. if she has an issue with that, I want her to either get over it, or pretty please next me. Life is short, I don't owe an explanation for my height, and I don't want in a screwy relationship that makes me feel odd.

I think this is the truth. I'm 6'3" and to be honest I don't think it does anything for me other than give me a hard time fitting in small cars.

I did have a girl exclaim "you have big feet!" The way she said it I don't know if she liked it or didn't like it.

There may be women out there that have a tall guy fetish but I think by and large, if you look at hot chicks, they aren't necessarily with the tallest guys, but the guys that are physically fit and handsome. Do you see hot girls with tall and fat guys?
