My left side(shoulder, arm, upper back) is noticeably smaller than my right side. I also had a chiropractic exam on thursday and the doc said I have an overdominance on my right side and its causing my spine to lean out to the right a bit.

How do I go about strengthening my left side effectively?

My idea:

1) Do an extra few reps of each exercise(DB shoulder press, curls, rows) with my left.

2) Also, I've started training in tennis with my left hand as well. I know that sounds crazy, but its excellent training to be proficient with both sides.

It's not that it isn't as strong, like I push/pull the same weights with both arms, its just noticeably(not huge difference, but noticeable) smaller, and the doc noticed it too, so...

Anybody with experience at balancing out a physique would be welcome.

I'm having the exact same problem, except for me it seems to be only the arm. My back appears to be symmetrical. I've started doing more things with my left hand (I'm using the mouse left handed right now, actually :D ) I switched to dumbbells insetad of barbells so the left side has to pull its own weight, I work only one side at a time whenever possible (ie: 1 arm DB bench press) and I might start working my left arm only until it catches up.

yeah my right lat. is noticeably larger than my left.. How do I grow it at a slightly faster rate than the right?

Just tack an extra rep or two onto Rows for left side, or...?

I'm right handed, and while my right started out the strongest, my left shoulder and chest have become stronger than my right, though my right arm is much stronger (no jokes boys).

I've started doing curls beginning with left (weakest) arm, and when that fails not doing anymore on right. And likewise for other exercises, but dunno... seems to not work so much for chest, where I'm pretty much usually doing a 5RM so pushing with everything...

in my experience it will balance in time (once it's fully developed), or if its some particular dysmorphia then it probably never will, but no-one's gonna notice. don't sweat it.

Watch out for those chiropractors. They will tell you amazing things. I would consider getting multiple opinions, preferrably some from other types of doctors. This is coming from experience.

To balance out--

Train all your one sided exercises left side first, and only do as many reps with your right side as you can with your left. Your right side will slow down, but it'll be worth it for your left side to catch up.

couldn't you just put in more of an effort conciously towards your left when your doing the weights that use both arms?
