To help me reach my goals I'm going to buy some supplements.
What do you guys recommend me?
I was going to buy some protein powder, but what do you guys think of some Creatine/Glutamine?
I've been on Creatine before and I know that it makes you look bigger, without really benefitting you physically.
Is there anything else you would recommend me?
Preferrably found on www.maximuscle.com

Priority wise, my list would be as follows:

1. High-end multivitamin
2. Protein Powder
3. Lots of Vitamin C, 3-4grams/day
4. EFAs/Fish Oil
5. Creatine(and it does a lot more than make you "look bigger", how were you taking it?)

If you burning desire to buy some supps, that should be the priority

An Animal Pak daily will do a lot more for you than probably anything else

Do vitamins/oils really benefit lean muscle gain or were you just saying them because they're good for you?
What about Glutamine/Glutamax? I've heard that's pretty good if you combine it with your protein powder.
And NO2 is supposedly rubbish?

And I'm sure the weight gains from Creatine is due to the increase water retention in muscles as opposed to a gain in lean muscle mass.
But hey, I'm not afraid to admit that I'm vain and that I'm only working out to look better, so there's no reason why I shouldn't start using Creatine again.

I'd worry about the rest of your diet before considering supplements. Supplements aren't a magic pill, they only SUPPLEMENT the diet - as their name suggests.

For what it's worth, whey protein and glutamine are my staples - the whey because I'd struggle to EAT 400g+ of solid protein per day, otherwise I'd restrict liquid protein to just post-workout - the glutamine because of the way I train (high frequency, low volume) since I find it helps recovery. It's also a useful stop-gap for pre- and post- cardio meals if you're out of BCAAs (which I wouldn't recommend unless you wanted to go on stage and were dieting for a contest).

Multivitamins, etc are IMO unnecessary, your diet SHOULD be rich enough in these anyway. I understand that most diets aren't, and in which case then they might be a decent investment.

Fish oil and flax oil are others I'd consider but only if I didn't like oily fish (my principle source of EFAs along with flax powder).

Don't worry about creatine, glucosamine and all that stuff just yet - get yourself a tub of whey for post-workout goodness and spend the rest of the money on FOOD.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

Yes the vitamins help with muscle gain and moreover, the healthier you are, the better your workouts can be.

Multivitamins are EXTREMELY necessary when the goal is fitness and especially getting very lean. They make a huge difference when you are taking a quality one. Most of the food we eat is not very nutritious and that goes for "organic" stuff as well. A good sports/bodybuilding multivitamin you will notice has levels WAAAAY exceeding the RDA, sometimes by the thousands of percent.

When you are getting huge doses of the basic vitamins, your performance increases dramatically. I've had trainees do experiments where they'd use animal paks for a month, then stop for a month, and the effect is very noticable in their numbers and to how they feel.

I would go with a quality multivitamin before any other supplement.

You have a point - I eat shedloads of homegrown fruit and veg so that's my vitamins taken care of.

I appreciate the effect on the 'feelgood factor' of trainess but I can't see how a multivitamin would affect fat loss though.

Go check out a physiology textbook and see what the vitamins do and their effect on energy levels, fat utilization, etc.

For example, if you are very vitamin b5 and b6 deficient, you won't use carbohydrates and fat as effectively and thus your metabolism slows down quite a bit. And if you notice, most athletic multivitamins contain vitamin b6 at levels sometimes 1000%+ of RDA

For example:

http://www.ast-ss.com/Products/ProductPage.asp?ProdID=19
Vitamin B6 30 mg 1500%
And lots of the minerals in sports multivitamins are well known to be metabolism increasers and aids to fat-loss

A leading cause of being oveweight is being UNDERnourished.

- Glutamine
- Greens Force (recommended for vitamins)

You can find the above products @ a health food store.

Try a search before asking questions like this; supplements have been discussed in great detail in tons of other threads.
