Is there any major difference in the absorption process? In my case, Garlic Extract. I've heard conflicting veiws to what i'm sure is a very simple question.

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I enjoy real garlic more so but to answer your question gel caps are definitely best in breaking down quickly to get absorbed by the body. The problem is whether or not your body can process its content effectively.

Tablets on the other hand take longer to dissolve but for some minerals that's best. Take multi-vitamins, time release tablets are great to give your body the nutrients throughout an extended period of time. However you still should be concerned with their absorption rate because if they take too long you will just pass it without getting its full effect.

Wish the answer was as simple as the question...

A supplement in liquid form is generally the least effective means. Tablets, gel-caps and powders are the better to the best, respectively, means of getting supplements

Does this hold true for creatine also?
I ask because I switched to the liquid creatine for convenience.

On another level, what about crushing vitamins/minerals and adding to a drink/smoothy, Is this okay considering thier not going down with pure water?

Thanks

Liquid creatine is worthless because it breaks down to creatinine within days when it is mixed into a liquid. You pretty much pay alot for nothing.

Agreed. Creatine monohydrate is the most effective form. It's powder. It works.

Liquid is the easiest to absorb.

Capsules are the next bext.

Tablets are the hardest to absorb.

With liquid the absorption rate is around 80-90%

With Capsules, around 60%

With tablets, around 30%

Liquid creatine should be avoided. It is much more likely to break down due to the instability of the product.

Read This Article on Liquid vs. Powder

I highly recommend powder supplements, if at all possible.

This idea makes me curious as well. Sounds like a good idea, but I've never heard of anybody actually doing this. Might as well just take the vitamin tablet or whatever before, during or after your shake.

Creatine ethyl ester is supposedly better.

Supposedly. The evidence so far shows that there is minimal, if any difference in absorption.
