Hi, i forum in different sites around the net, one main one is hometheaterforum.com

They were able to hack the program or somehing, and removed the display for post count in the AUTHOR column of the main thread, only visible if you looked at their profile.

I think this would be good just to kinda remove the 'elitest' title from people who post alot.

I mean, a trueDJ could just come on this site and have 5 post count, compared to a computer geek who has nothign else to do but surf forums and pile up 1000 posts.

Judge ppl by the content of their posts, not their post count...

Im not sure if you guys are able to do this with your program, but just a suggestion...

Just my 2 cents (thats .000045 cents USD)

why does everybody care about posts so much!!!

U should be smart enough to judge somebody's words by their post's content NOT by the post count.

Yeah, so if its gone, ppl will stop judging ppl by thier post count, but rather their content in the post...

No. Bad suggestion. Die.

I'd prefer a rating system to a post count system though. For instance, this message is practically worthless if not for this suggestion. Yet it's still included in the post count. I'd rather have people rate posts. There would be an Avg. (Post) Rating of 0 to 5 stars and how many posts were rated.

Is that understandable? I'm just thinking this up as I go.

By the way, I think the user rating system is also faulty as it doesn't really average the user's contributions to the community. It only averages the user's popularity amongst the community.

Each rated post must count towards the average user rating else a rating system will fail. Example:

SoSuave.com
Adminstrator

Registered: Genesis
Location: SoSuave.com
Avg. Post Rating: * * * * *
Posts Rated: 4,341,985

The asterisks would become graphical stars though. :)

Only the rated posts would count in the post rating. All other posts not rated would not count.

I don't really mind the post count feature.

The only reason why mine is so high is that I have been using the same forum name for 2.5 years now, and over the years, it sort of piles up on you. I bring this up to point out that a high post count means that you're a geek or anything like that, it merely means that you have been using the same forum name for a signifigant length of time. There are times that i post a lot in one day, and other times, I don't post for days at a time.
