I've been here for a long time and there are a couple of things that bug me about this board and I've come up with a couple of suggestions.

1. One thing that bugs me about this forum is that we can't delete our own posts and threads. I don't see any reason for us not being allowed to delete posts.

2. The ranks. I don't like the idea of ranks being based on post count. Even though I have over 1,000 posts, by no means am I a "Master Don Juan."

3. Reputation. I don't have a clue what it's for. 99% of posters are "on a distinguished road." The problem is that level is the default level for rep and with the current system giving rep is pointless.

I really think ranks should be based on post count and rep. If somebody has low post count and low rep they are a n00b. If they have a high post count and low rep then they are a keyboard jockey. If they have a low post count and high rep then they are a rising star. High post and high rep then they are a guru.

The titles are just suggestions but it would make it easier for people to see who's advice to pay attention to and who's to take with a grain of salt.

Edit:

4. A place for logs. I would like to see a log sub-forum. I think it's great for people to keep public logs of their progress but not so great for them to be scattered everywhere.

I'd like to be able to go further back in my post history. I've been here since march of last year but I can only review posts beginning January of this year.

That seems odd. I can see the very first thread I made back in 04

That's weird. I experimented with changing my user settings but it's the same.

I'd like to see that some of the newbies posting here just take a look at the DJ Bible before asking:

So she likes me, what do I do?
Raising Interest level?
First Date?
I just can't approach!

etc etc etc

Please, before posting, read the Bible. 80 - 90 % of all questions will be answered there, and also keep you occupied for a long time implementing the advice given. It's not called a Bible for nothing.

I realize that this implicates a cultural change to this board, not a structural or organizational one. However, I do feel that it is necessary, especially when the vast majority of about 31 000 members have less than 100 posts (myself included, but I am making progress).

Please, try to do research before starting another thread.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

Yeah my forum setup here is the same as what reset described.

I tried to find Str8up's "Walk Away" thread in his post history as well but it was too far back and wouldn't let me find it.

I noticed sometimes I can find really old threads using the search feature but yeah my post history is a bust for that.

*Maxtro tries to bring the thread back on track.

So any support for the ideas and any others?

I support the deleting of our own threads.

I'd also like it if pictures could be shown on the page like some forums do.

I agree with that. I spent over a year reading the DJ Bible and other good threads, going out and implementing the things I've learned, before I even signed up for an account last month.

Trust me, we (mods) are all taking things into consideration and all these issues and suggestions have been brought up before.

- We are still working out the rep system, so bear with us on that.

- Images were allowed before but not now. They might come back someday.

- Deleting your own threads can be done if you edit it soon enough. There IS a time limit. If you need something deleted, just PM a mod.

- Viewing older posts can usually be done be done by doing this:

Click on the forum you want to see: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2116/sosuave2zn7.png
Scroll to the bottom until you see "Display Options" and click on "From the Last: X Days" and click on "View All": http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/1962/sosuavefq0.png
Enjoy.

As TVM said so eloquently ;), we are indeed in the process of making some changes around here to improve it and keep it fresh.

We'd like to hear what every member thinks though... If you have complaints about anything, or suggestions to improve the board/website, lay it all out.

*Sees Allen going to de-mod me* Oh f*ck...

The creation of the mature man's forum has fractured the board - I know it was done with good intentions, but the DJ discussion forum has become an extension of the High School forum! We have just been scattered! Bring SS forum to its original state and take out the Mature Man's forum!

Ban the Homos on the forum!!

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

I agree with Maxtro about the rating system, but not about deleting your own posts... infact, I would suggest that you take away the ability to even edit the post that you have made after it has been posted for a reasonable period of time.

Also, I don't really like the idea of a quiz. How is someone to learn the answers if they are not allowed to ask the questions? If you only have "experts" posting on the forum, what is the point in coming here... to join in on a big circle jerking session? Perhaps you might have a kind of quiz to establish reputation, but I really fail to see how it would work or what the point would be in having something like that. I know quality when I see it. I don't need a title under someones screen name to tell me that their advice is gravy.

Oh, yeah... Maybe you could let us talk about religion and politics in atleast one section of the site. I know it's asking alot and it might start endless flame wars, but people are talking about this stuff anyway. It really wont change much around here except that people would stop talking about it everywhere else. I think that religion and politics are two of the most interesting subjects that men can discuss together. I mean, I can only talk about fashion, nutrition and women for so long...

I wonder if this is PC only. I'm on a Mac and the image you linked to doesn't seem to be available in the Safari or Firefox browsers.

Are you INSANE??? That's crazy talk. The Mature Man forum is a great place to be. Most of the threads there are much more focused and to the point, and relevant, than many of the main forum threads.

My vote cancels yours.

This is exactly my point -- bring the men back to the regular forum to bring it back it its original state! Our posts won't change because of a new place to post.It will uplift the main discussion forum and its members, instead of isolating others based on an arbitrary age!!

I love the main forum because it's laid back, is all over the place, it's a fun sort of chaos. But for me, the mature man is the "meat" of this place, along with the tips section.

I actually don't have a problem with the way this board is set up. It's made up of people, and generally people seem to know which section to post in, and I know which section to go to depending on what I'm looking for.

I can see the option now to go back at least a year for the particular forum, but it's not an option on my personal post history.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.
