Success, Confidence, and a General State of Well-being:
This is a list of practices that have led me to be successful in life, generally have an optimistic attitude, and have a genuine sense of confidence and well being. If you practice these over time, you'll always have something to talk about, be comfortable in nearly all situations, display high value naturally, be complete and comfortable on your own (non-needy), and be quite attractive to quite a lot of people.
1. Know yourself. Turn inward and be honest with yourself about your natural likes and dislikes, what you're good at, what you're bad at, what attracts you, what repels you, the types of things you enjoy, the books you like to read, the shows and movies you like to watch, favorite sports, favorite music, etc. Also, examine your past to help you realize why you are the way you are, where you come from, your family dynamic, etc. This is the first step to true confidence. Be willing to admit you're not great at everything and give others props when they're better than you at something. Know yourself so you can start putting together the right public presentation of yourself. Ultimately what defines you in public is the exterior that you present. Human beings are complex creatures. Know yourself so you can market yourself to others in the best possible manner. Know yourself so that you know how to act in any and all situations. You'll find you start to naturally attract what's best for you and repel what's not.
2. Look good. Work out and exercise. Keep clean. Get a healthy tan by being in the sun during the summer. Dress nice. One of the best moves I ever made was asking a gay friend of mine if he'd go shopping with me. I sat down and told him my style and what I was going for, and he put together a great daytime, nighttime, summer, fall, winter, casual, semi-formal, and formal wardrobe. I get compliments on my style now wherever I go, even if I'm simply wearing a t-shirt and jeans. I'm not ever dressed outrageously, but I'm always looking good and comfortable. I always give credit to my gay stylist when asked. Its a great DHV conversation. Chicks really dig that I'm straight enough to have no style on my own, smart enough to get help from a gay guy, and humble enough to give him the credit.
3. Do something cool a couple of times a month. Do something with your free time other than try to pick up chicks. Go to the beach or hike to the top of a mountain for no other reason than to catch a sunset or listen to the waves, skydive, create something, go see your favorite band, go on a road trip, whatever. This way you always have something cool to talk about, you rack up experiences that will lead to common grounds with a lot of people, and you become a more interesting person in general. Even if you suck at something or have a miserable time you end up with a funny story to tell.
4. Read. Always be reading at least one book that has nothing to do with pickup. Reading really does expand the mind. Among other things, it helps you visualize new situations that come up in life and let you reflect on how you would handle yourself in those situations. This is a very good practice to get into. TV and movies are visual and passive making it hard to put yourself in other people's places. Reading requires you to actively envision the situations that are taking place thereby connecting you personally with them.
5. Pick up at least one hobby that chicks dig. You naturally have at least one, you can't possibly be all video games and pro football. Find it and develop it.
6. Stay organized and keep clean. Clean your room/house/aparment every day. It'll take you 5 minutes a day if you stay on it, and a clean environment helps your mind relax and is very impressive to chicks (and anyone really).
7. Sleep. Getting adequate sleep helps you both look and feel better. At least one or two nights a week don't have a single drink, smoke weed, whatever. . sounds easy but i know plenty of people who drink or smoke weed every single night of their lives. I'm a partier by trade so I have to make a point of this.
8. Stretch. Seriously. Stretch every day. **** feels good, limbers you up, gets your blood flowing, and makes you more flexible and coordinated. Chicks dig flexibility and coordination.
9. Stop thinking. Take some time every few days to turn your brain off and just be. Its hard to do, but if you can pull it off it disconnects you from your ego and puts you entirely in the moment. Just listen, look, smell, hear, and feel without any thought. It doesn't matter where, you'll be amazed at what you discover in your own backyard and the mental freshness it leads to.
10. Look out for the best interest of all. To be a true alpha-male, you want to have the best interest of everyone in mind at all times, first of your family, then of yourself (you have to be there to protect the interest of your family), then your friends, then business partners/associates, acquaintances, city, state, region, nation, and world. Always look for win-win situations. Give a little back. At the end of the day, act in a manner that benefits and betters the lives of as many people possible at all times.
I've gradually figured these out over the course of my life, and this messageboard has led me to pinpoint and reflect upon a lot of things I was doing naturally that really work for me. Hope passing these on helps a few of you. This is an ongoing reflective process, so I'm pretty sure I'll expand upon this in the future.
