i've seen this in movies, and i've seen it once or twice in real life.....

What does an X taped on the window supposed to do, or supposed to mean.

^^^^ That would be my guess.

Maybe the window has been cracked and instead of letting the glass fall out and expose the interior of the building to the elements they have put tape across it to hold the glass in place.

Nope, that's not it.

Back in the day, when they ware running "X-Files" I've seen that guy tape an X over an entire window (NOT BROCKEN OR CRACKED)

comeon, i know one of you nerds know this????

I've seen this yesturday on "Born Identity", when the guy tapes an ex over the car window....

still doesn't explain why the guy in an appartment building down the streeT thas a big X over his office window.....THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I'LL HOLD IT UP IF SOMEBODY PUTS A STONE THROUG IT....

The only other valid explanation is, to draw the attention of people walking around, so that they don't run in to the glass (i guess, they have lot of morans around)
