It's a load of BS. Smiling with eye contact is a way of reflecting confidence, and I've had some good luck/experiences with that. You just can't have an overly forced smile that looks like you're trying too hard.

That maybe true. I have a friend is an AFC, he smiles almost all the time to anybody and is very approachable. As you can tell he is always getting friend-zoned.

When I was a sophomore in college, there was a super cute guy who always laughed... He was the laugh of the party type. Whenever he missed class, it was so boring and quiet. All the girls loved being around him because he knew exactly how to make people laugh.

That's why the non-committal half-smile is so effective. A big grin is seen as submissiveness, while a "token" half smile can be deadly. It's perceived as friendly but non-submissive. Makes her want to earn the full smile.

Yes, they only smile when there is a reason to smile. They never smile just out of politeness, but their smiles are sincere.

Of course women like smiling, warmth, humor, etc. I'm just not sure that they get wet from it.

Its not the smile itself but the position from which you show it.

You introduce yourself to someone you smile and shake his/her hand is fine as long as the body language is ok.

You smile after someone made a lame joke or worse made a joke on you, only to look "friendly" and its not ok.

Some woman is showing you her kid and you smile to look "nice" and despite what you think its not ok, nature didnt want grown man to like someone else kids, you do the rest.

Regarding the smile it may work to create emphaty among stranger and show lack of bad intentions (or fake such lack), just think about car dealer which are probably the most smiling individuals, the more they smile the more they are pushing it in your ass during the agreement.

So again I confirm that it depends from which position you smile, but even more important than the smile is laughting, someone which does it too much is either stupid or submissive, or insecure and trying his best to create some connection with someone.

Smiles are precious things and those who abuse of them either have personal problems or bad intentions toward you.

The ancient romans were used to say that "laugh is plentyful in the mouth of fools".

If you grin like an idiot or sport a fake smile... sure that's a turn of. A casual smile works wonders... A little smirk with strong eye contact is the way to go... give her a nice smile as positive body language when she does something you like.

In Eastern Europe as well. "A dummy is known by the size of his smile". Smile when it's sincere, otherwise be stoic, you aren't a clown.

Let's also not forget that one does not primarily smile with the mouth. The smile is heavily weighted toward the eyes.

Think of Kramer with his nervous smile. His eyes are wide with anxiety while he gives a broad smile with his mouth, which of course is perceived by the audience and is therefore funny.

I've worked on refining my smile in the past year, and I think I've got it down pretty good. I bring the eyes into a sleepy semi-slit and give a slightly reserved and slightly uneven smile with the mouth. As if I'm amused and in a pleasant mood with my eyes but am holding just a little bit back with my mouth.

Women seem to be turned on by a man who keeps some reserve for himself and doesn't give himself away completely like women do, and this applies to every aspect of life. Give her some, but never all.

When an alpha man doesn't smile he creates the perception with the insecure people around him (women and beta men) that something is bothering him, and the insecure (women and betas) wonder if it is their fault as to why he is displeased. So they submit to him and try to get on his good side.

On the other hand, there are times a guy should smile like when first meeting a woman.. But then switch it to laughter more than just sitting there and smiling and doing nothing else. I like to be the life of the party, the one having the most fun and making others have fun. Laugh laugh laugh, joke joke joke. And keep it flowing like a great beer.
