I have lost about 25 lbs over the last year and a half. Which is great but it looks to me like the lower portion of my stomach has become less toned than my upper stomach, chest and arms.

I feel like my love handles have gotten proportionally larger. You can basically make out my top for abs but then I have a small spare tire around my lower stomach and sides. When I was larger I didnt really notice them as much, maybe cuz I was more filled out?

Is this because this is the area of most fat storage on men and the hardest/last thing to get rid of?

Either I start filling out again, or I gotta lose about 5-10lbs of fat. I dont dig a girl with muffin tops, so I dont want to be a guy with them.

I have read, and noticed, and its kinda interesting, that a lot of the time you see couples with similar body fat %

#1 thing you should start doing is eating more lean protein based dishes + vegetables with them. This alone can get you started in the right direction. I want you to be cautious of your carbs, not to completely eliminate them but really ask yourself at times "Do I really deserve this rice or potatoes on my plate right now? Have I busted ass in the gym or am I about train and put these carbs to use?)

Carbs aren't evil, being a lazy **** and overeating on carbs and crap food is.

Let me ask you this. Are you taking any omega 3 supplements? Drinking/supplementing green tea?
Eating decent amounts of protein every day/every few hours?
Are you eating decent amounts of veggies every day (fruit are k but should be limited greatly for some /just morning)
Staying ontop of 3 essential good fats (critical to proper hormonal balance in your body a nice ratio of polyunaturated, monounsaturated and saturated fats from natural sources is of importance e.g. olive oil, avocadoes, milled flaxseeds
Have you been real stressed lately?
How's your vitamin c intake? (lower stomach fat has been attributed to higher than normal cortisol levels, which vit c/weight training/sex can help lower)

What kind of job do you do? (standing around a lot or sitting on your ass most of the day? give me an idea)

What does your weight training and cardio routine look like? (be honest , if you only go 1-2 a week let me know)

My diet sucks. Kinda financially tight right now.

Breakfast
eggs and or oats and or fruit

lunch
chick or tuna

dinner
protein w/ some veggies or a sandwhich w/ some protein, tomatoes, onions, lettuce

snacks are usually fruit smoothies or apple or nuts. I dont eat enough veggies, never have. Raw carrots used to make me gag.

But I have been staying between my place, my parents and my aunts. My aunt only has microwave food... sh!t you not. My parents I can get by eating healthy, but still I have barely any food at my place, so I end up at my aunts or parents and pig out because I feel hungry.

My work out is sparadic. 3-4 days a week, includes decent ab work, pull/chin ups, push ups, squats, dips, medium weights 12-15 reps, trying to start running again (got a bad back). then i'll throw in random stuff, jump rope, trampoline with the little bro, little basketball

Reading this post is like hearing a girl b-itch and whine about all the @sshole guys she always ends up dating, she vows to change and go after higher quality men. Then when you run into a few weeks later she's dating a new @sshole! LOL

Dude if you REALLY want to get rid of your love handles, make your diet a PRIORITY!! I don't want to hear excuses about going between your aunt's place, your parents and your place. Your a grown man, you have money, you have a car... which means you can drive to the store and get food.

I eat 5-6x a day, I bring food with me nearly everywhere I go, or better yet if I know I'm going have to be somewhere I eat before. If I have to be away from home for a long time I eat before and take a protein shake and a small amount of carbs with me.

Its all about planning and dedication, there's not shortcut, so get serious or get use to your love handles.

tough love and I'm out!

Chromeo, there is a lot of good advice here for you. Pimp is also on the right track by eating several times a day. I have cut over 25lbs this year alone by using a modified Bow flex diet. The diet does get old after a while, hence why I modified it. Here is what works:

1) Hard a$$ work my friend!! I run 4-5 days a week usually 5-6 miles at a time. I am now starting to at some weightlifting to that with an ab workout for 2 or more times a week.
2) Eating right most of the time (look up online the bowflex diet) and eat 4 smaller meals including fruits, veggies, protein along with a snack somewhere in there.
3) Did I mention your body loves water? Drink the daily recommended amount of 8 glasses of 8ozs at least... which will be more if you workout.
4) Stop eating garbage! I will eat crappy only once or twice a week. When I do, I will eat a medium or large pizza at a setting along with a few beers. I rarely touch Etoh (alcohol) though. I love sweets, but have cut most of that out.
5) You have to work that butt off to get the handles off and if you want your abs to show, you have to cut off the fat of your body weight. I am close to that, but if I continue to drop I am going to be a lightweight. Which brings me to the dilemma of putting my muscle back on without much weight loss. It is a tough thing to do.

It takes hard work to get where I am!!!!! I can probably do the mile and half run faster than most kids in their teens and twenties. I did it the other day in 10:52 seconds, which is pretty damn good for a man my age.

You said you are financially strapped, well me too! I just bought some groceries and it was $75. That will probably last me about 2 weeks. I also bought cleaning items and other crap like shampoo. I could do $200 a month and work that easy!!
