Imagine each cigarette you put to your lips is a thin, white penis.

Cold turkey anyone? :D

Can you smoke at work? If you're going to focus on quitting that's the best place to start since you can keep busy. I did this for a long time and it got easier for me- I still smoked at home but then managed to quit for a couple of weeks before going back to my old ways (I was still not smoking at work, though). Just focus on going longer and longer without smoking...Rewarding yourself with a smoke is okay as long as you don't wait too long to try again!

BTW, cold turkey doesn't work for most people IMO but feel free to try. Of course, the more you try the better your chances are for success. I've been smoke free for over 3 months now. I was actually tempted recently to smoke a cigarette but it wasn't the same as I remembered it so I believe I've won the battle- oh, and no real cravings since; it's for the most part gone. Good luck to you.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

You're trying to have your cake and eat it too...not going to happen. There's no way you're getting out of this addiction without willpower. If you don't have a true desire then you shouldn't even bother trying. If you really think there's an easy way out go get the patch or some gum...whatever, it's all the same. Those companies will love your money- after all they cater to weak-minded people who think they can buy their way out of their situation.
You, however, will continue to buy smokes like it's your duty.

How about this: every time you want to smoke, realize you are fighting a war with your body- it wants that nicotine and it's going to do its best to make it your will. WILL-MOTHERFOCKING-POWER is the word that should pass through your mind every time you want a smoke. Write down every possible reason you may have for quitting or do your best to remember at least a few things that help you resist the urge...and believe me, I know how compulsive a person can become.

RedPill's (I quit about 18 months ago) stop smoking program:

You need to do it as you should do any other task in life that requires serious effort - BALLS OUT. As it applies to smoking, that means smoking your last one, not buying more, not bumming them, not hanging out in smokers circles, not carrying money or a credit card with you, and not drinking alcohol until the desire is dead. Not only must desire be dead but the thought of smoking must gross you out. Remove all temptations. It ought to take a few weeks to kill the desire.

But wait! We're not finished yet. We're just getting started. Start running. Start doing windsprints. Do them every day. Get your time in the mile under 6 minutes. Make your lungs burn, and spit up the nasty green mucus wads which are your body cleaning out the coating of tar from your membranes. You will feel cravings for endorphins. You will beg for mercy. You will puke after your first few runs. You will collapse in pain after sprinting and think "why did I do this to myself?"

You will look for another compulsive behavior to replace that wonderful 7 minutes when you used to light up. Maybe it's eating. Maybe it's masturbating. Maybe it's chewing gum. The psychological addiction is far worse than the chemical addiction. You are cured as soon as you have successfully rid yourself of the bad habit of complusive behaviors. In your case the compulsive behavior manifests itself in the form of smoking. But watch out! The compulsion bug will try to change hats on you. Kill it with discipline. Kill it with willpower. Keep your eye on the prize of having slayed the beast of desire.

It always takes balls to successfully re-engineer your psychology. You must be your own drill instructor. Don't waste your time/money with all the gimmicks and nicotine replacements. Forget "cutting back," that's the way of the pvssy. Don't be a pvssy. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

This is extremely sound advice. Good job brother.

Although, If you really wanna quit, right now, do as I suggested earlier and willfully imagine each new cig as a c0ck. If you smoke it you're gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that . . .

I forgot to say what RedPill mentioned, which is to substitute smoking for sprinting (or whatever cardio you like doing). I found quitting to be much easier from the adrenaline buzz; it definitely helped take my mind off it...you still have to contend with the rest of the day, though. I sense in your posts you still do not have a true desire to quit just yet. At least you're starting to think about it(even if it is just passing interest).

Yeah, and how many people do you know quit by weaning themselves off it? That 5hit continuously failed for me.

I read "Allen Carr's Easyway To Stop Smoking" and haven't smoked since. The great thing about the book is it works on the psychological part of the addiction which is actually worse than the actual drug addiction.

I love how he said that you smoke to feed the addiction caused by the last cigarette you smoked. The only way to stop the chain reaction is to break the chain and not smoke anymore.

The withdrawl sucks, but it's great to get it all over in one big shot rather than put up with the torture of hundreds of little shots over a lengthy period of time. While you're going through the withdrawl, just think about how great it will be to only put up with it this one last time, and then you're free! No more smoking, no more coughing 5hit up, no more withdrawl from trying to quit.
