I prefer the stiff-legged deadlifts cuz I like to workout my hamstrings. Do I still have to do regular deadlifts to workout my lower back? Are those two exersises that different, or are they similiar enought that im working out all the muscels that get worked out in a regular deadlift.

I dunno...my lower back still gets sore after a stiff legged deadlift. I really do prefer stiff legged ones though- my hamstrings don't normally get worked out.

That dude is doing a f'ucked up version, heh. He's not keeping his back flat, as you would in a true stiff-legged deadlift, so he's doing a cross between a stiff-legged and normal dead thereby cheating himself out of a full hamstring workout. Here's what it should it actually look like:

The site I posted has the same version yours does only they called it a straight leg deadlift.

It's primary target is the hamstring too.

Yeah, I thought it was strange too.

If you want to work your hams, drop the weight on a SLDL until you can keep your back straight. If it still doesn't nail your hams, try good-mornings (which are similar but won't pull your shoulders forward).

I'm sure working up to a 500lb stiff leg deadlift will work out your lower back just fine. do whichever is more comfortable for you.
