At my student house we have a BBQ, i find myself enjoying cooking and eating steak the most of any meat. I make about 4-6 steaks per week. The other nights i substitute with chicken, or the occasional salmon. Im not really educated on the Nutritional Value of steak, and if this is too much, per week. Current Height 6'0, Weight 180

Hell fvck no. Steak is Mother's milk to me. Like Mrs. K's glorious pie, I eat it at every opportunity.

The health benefits far outweigh the cost of steak.

Eat heartily soldier.

Eat as much as you can get, coupled with your green veggies of course.

it's fine as long as it's not consistently blackened.

Let me tell you guys something, when I was in high school the rest of the Linemen and I would go to Big Y after practice and eat Longon Broil raw right there standing in line.

The steroids and extra little bit they give cattle today staves off most bacteria. And we were stupid enough not to give a fvck, we just ripped the cellophane off and knawed on all of that bloody goodness.

The looks we got from people . . .Priceless.

Anyways...what are the benefits to eating steak?

I weigh 175 now and I'm actually trying to lose 10 pounds. (I'm an actor in L.A. afterall. ) Are there health benefits to eating steak? Isn't it high in cholesterol and fat? I like steak, but will it increase my body mass if I eat too much of it?

saturated fat and dietary cholesterol are good for you:

some guys here swear by beef as the most anabolic (legal) substance on the planet. anyway, if it really bothers you, you should be getting your heart checked out once every year or two anyway by your mid-20s.

I still think Salmon has to be healthier than beef, right?

I have been buying bags of preseasoned salmon fillets at Sam's. 20 minutes in the toaster oven, and it's as good as what you get at a restaurant.

healthier, schmelthier. if all you eat is beef, you should add some salmon or similar fish for the omega-3 fats. if all you eat is salmon, you should add other types of meat. this mythic quest for the "healthiest foods" is absurd & destructive, because we want to find the magic foods that will help us live the longest and... there aren't any.

there are lifestyles that are healthy and lifestyles that aren't. our culture often judges wrongly. lean, toned & tanned "looks" healthy, but looks can be deceiving.
