Hey guys, I am not doing squats right now because I was playin basketball and a huge fat dude ran into me from the back, i have had a lil back pain...givin time to recover. In the mean time, if i do leg press? would that be sufficient enough to squats? I know squats are essential and i have to get back on track i just dont want to injure myself right now.

What are some machine exercises that equate to squats, if any?

Thanks All,

Zaraza

Maybe try machine hack squats, they're back-supported. Leg presses are decent but be careful not to make your injury worse with them, people can injure their back with sloppy leg presses mate.

Yeh be careful like Shaun said. I'd also try and do Glute ham raises if you can, failing that just use a hamstring machine. The ones where your heels go backwards towards your hamstrings.

So something like 3x5 leg press followed by 2x10 for hamstrings.

Do high reps on leg press with light weight, were talking 35+ rep range. Stay with that for 3 months and you'll like what happens.
