Just had a couple of unanswered questions that have been on my mind lately..

#1. Do the sports make the body, or does the body make the sport? What I mean is I've always been blessed with really strong/large legs & shoulders. Is this because most of my physical activities revolved around track, bike riding, and basketball growing up? (Upper-body-friendly, full contact based sports like football & wrestling were off-limits for me growing up because my dad was afraid of expensive injuries *sigh*).

Or, is it more about genetics so basketball came easier for me because of them? What are the sports you've done during growth spurts, and where are your strengths?

#2. I noticed twice when I dressed in tight shirts around girls I had a rapport with they grabbed my triceps VERY deliberately.

Is this some ancient female technique related to measuring body-fat & muscle size ratios?

Both times they did it mid-conversation and it completely caught me off guard. My best prepared response to this in the future is to do something like grabbing her arm immediately while flexing my tricep, but using the counter grab to smokescreen the fact I'm not flexing to impress I'm just imitating her to be funny.

What's your interpretation, is this standard stuff? Are they expecting me to flex and I should just do it?.

its a combination, but if you ever wanna be the top of any sport, you gotta have a strong mind. Having a strong mind can also make up for a strong body.
I suspect alotta the naturally athletic people did sports when they were kids, and thats how their bodies developed.

Obviously its a combination, but I just find it funny how my Dad did wrestling, football, etc. and he has a huge upper body I'm jealous of while he's jealous of my legs.

He blames genetics but I look at the sports we did growing up and I think it has more to do with that.

NO! It would be lame to flex. Next time say something funny like, "hands off the merchandise" or (look down at her hand and say) "quit gropping me. if you want me to flex just ask."

It's both actually.

Some individuals who are fortunate enough to have the genetics that allow them natural speed and strength often times find sports relatively easy. However, one individuals body type can differ greatly depending on which sport career they persue.

Example. One kid. Same kid. Nothing different about him. If this kid decides to get into football and go out for linebacker. He may end up to be well into the 220-260lb range, depending on inside or outside linebacker. Now, if this same kid were to get into swimming, he would be considerably less bulky and very more "streamlined". He wouldnt have the muscle mass of a linebacker, and therefor the sport would make his body.

As for the groping of your arm, its kino. Be flattered. Just look at the arm that shes groping, and then look at her out of the corner of your eye with a smile. Simple as that.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Thanks guys, kind of silly questions in retrospect. I always like to think of things in terms of my dad, and how he raised me so I can have better ideas for raising my sons someday (god willing.)

Anyone with examples like mine where sports were dominantly lower or upper body I would be interested to hear your story.

And about the tricep grabbing thing, I didn't even think of it like Kino because they were soooo deliberate about it. I'll chalk that one down as not recognizing Kino due to lack of recent experience with aggressive girls.

Genetics/talent/character/"body makes the sport" is a smaller part than the "sport makes the body".
