Sore

OK I am out of shape. And I started working out this week after school. 3 times a week. I was wondering about being sore. Ive heard that if your sore for 1-3 days after a wokout it means your getting stonger but I also heard that being sore a day or 3 after is damage to the muscle tissue that weakens it and doesnt grow back stronger. Or it could just be that Im out of shape and it will take my body a little to heal and regrow.

Anybody know anything about this? I really wanna bulk up and get stronger for next football season and dont wanna hurt myself working out. I will ask the workout coach on monday also.

Try chugging a protein shake after workout. I vaguely remember reading somewhere about that lessening soreness. It has worked for me.

You're just starting out, being sore is acceptable. It'll pass in a couple of weeks, as long as you have proper rest & nutrition.

I used to get sore for 2-3 days. Now I usually have a little one-two day sore which feels good.

What I do:
- 5 mg Creatine
- Stretch pre-workout
- Stretch post-workout
- Whey Protein

Being sore doesn't mean enything other than that the muscle fibers has been damaged. It's not an indicator of getting bigger or how effective a workout is. When I was squatting 5x5 three times a week with a bill starr routine, I never got sore. Yet my legs grew faster than ever before.
