When she poo-poo'd my $145K salary offer letter I finally asked her: "What do YOU think is a good salary?" I reminded her that when we met last year my income matched the highest salary of any job in America at $166,800 (Neurosurgeon, 2011). "YOU are the highest paid?" she laughed. "Some guys make $600,000 a year".

"What job is that? Gangster?" I asked. She had no reply. Note she didn't say any girls made that much.

Then I thought about it. She's only had 2 steady boyfriends in her entire life. One lives with his mom and is starting college. The other lives with his mom's house and just graduated college. Neither ever had a job in their career. Both hope to be lawyers "who would earn $110K - #22 on the list", but that will take them 10-15 years of hard work, and given inflation, who knows?

Sure, you can run a business an make millions, but that's if you make the top 1% (and get extremely lucky) so you can't expect that.

Sadly, her generation should expect much less, not much more. It's the first generation that has it worse than their parents in the history of the US (in both life expectancy and income).

Compare 2012 to 1970 when a man could work in a factory and take home $25,000 a year and a house cost $30,000. Women married guys like that and were good wives and mothers for the most part. In 2012 there are hardly any jobs, and men are lucky to make $25,000 a year NOW, with houses costing $300,000. The average income is still under $40,000. How convenient to expect a man to make 15 times the average, while dating an unemployed man? But half the women on FB and POF are exactly that. They think they can save up for fake boobs and then deserve an independently wealthy man.

The bottom line is that times are much harder for this generation, and to make up for it, women have increased their fantasies exponentially. Instead of making $25K and expecting $25K, todays woman makes $25 and expects $25M.

This is what I've said for years now, sometime around age 22 a woman will go from f*cking guys her age who are busboys to expecting a man to be a millionaire. There is no in-between. Under no circumstances would any woman be impressed with anyone making the top 25 salaries ($105K - $181K in 2012) in America (hard enough to achieve). It seems there is no actual job a man can have that will earn enough to impress even a college girl these days, nevermind the shoulder-padded mid-30's ex-divorcees. It's like the boss that asks you to get something done in an hour. Men have been set up to fail by impossible expectations.

How much is your woman happy with?

Like I said, AlexDP programmed her cell phone to get an update whenever I post so she can instantly make a normally off topic point. She won't dare tell us what she makes because she can't compete in any measurable way. So she b*tches.

She was too busy telling me I'm not smart enough to herself be smart enough to actually read my 2011 numbers. I already said Neurosurgeon was the highest paid in 2011. In 2012 their salary went up to $181K.

That is, the highest paid profession earns 333% less than what would impress a (6 or 7 rated) college girl (my point).

UPDATE:

Just got this email: "Would you be interested in the following opportunity? Pays up to $140K, maybe more for the right candidate".

I do ok. Regarding surgeons being smarter than me. I actually make software that is being reviewed for use by the head of Stanford medical in CA, UT Medical Austin TX and Cleveland Clinic in OH, where I met the head neurosurgeon on my third visit to their IT department. But it's also proven useful in the oil, CAD, military and train industries. It's a way to reverse engineer and compress volumetric data such as MRI, seismic, or sensor based.

That's my shot at making $600K a year. Maybe then I can get laid "for free".

$145k is surely enough to hire a therapist.

I make $21,000 dollars, so anything above $40,000 is good by estimations. But what do I know? I'm not a materialistic player or a gold digging AW.

I'm making 40K a year just starting out.

To be in the top 1% of earners you need to make about $330K a year. Most people who do that don't have 'jobs' in the way we think of it (doctor, lawyer etc.) but own properties or are involved in finance or development.

Only a silly little twat would think that's not a great salary. In most places in the US, you can live a damn good lifestyle on that income.

I don't get it. I make my money. She makes hers. Wanna share here and there? Cool, but what I make should be of no concern to a woman as long as I can take care of myself. Unless, of course, they are gold diggers.

That's just it, then you have men like BigNeil who feel pressured by a woman to work all hours his company will allow to earn as much money as he can for her. This is precisely why I cannot be bothered disclosing what I earn to a woman. Whatever you earn it's never enough.

bigneil, having money is probably an alpha trait in itself,

if you don't have it, you are seen as not trying hard enough, or lazy, or no AMBITION(this is the right word), whatever the case maybe.

If you truly wanted to make 600k a year, you could do it,

she wants a motivated man.

All women want top 1% of men anyways, in terms of looks, body,
social status whatever.

Why should money be any different.

They want a guy in top 1% of money too.

They will want a guy who makes at least 300k a year,

which is not really that hard to do, if you are smart.

Guess what I am half your age, and soon I will make more than you.

Because I try really hard.

And 145k is actually nothing in NYC, U can't even pay for a decent condo in Manhattan.

If you like I can offer some advice on how to make some more moola.

I read a study that said that the income that will make you the happiest is right around $77k/year

This, you really want for nothing and have a good life.

anything more, they said, and you will just spend it on dumb stuff, like a luxury car or a nicer leather couch, stuff that really doesnt make you any happier but you have to worry about it, making your life less good.

Yes but the baby boomers who got us into this mess, they're so responsbile and saved up for retirement and of course they don't expect anybody else to pay for their social security and other benefits. There's no wealth transfer from the young to the old by means of taxes. No siree bob. They're just fine and dandy.

Face it. Things have been fvcked for at least a few generations.

That's why this site exists, to teach men who only think about money = pvssy to become more well rounded.

Read RT's Social Matching Theory. Of course the top end ass will target the top end men (and wealth is certainly a factor), but you can get plenty of girls that will make you rock hard without making any significant amount of money. I went through a period where I was doing some soul searching (I had saved up enough to last me for a long time) and was basically unemployed by choice for almost half a year. My ability to bed hot women didn't suffer in the least bit.

Nothing wrong with making lots of money, but figure out WHY you want to do it, and do it for YOU. I want a high income because I want financial independence at an early age, as it gives me leverage to go where I want and do what I want (to a certain extent).

Don't fall into the mindset that a huge bankroll will have pvssy lining up outside your front door. It won't. If you neglect your health, social skills, and other areas of your life, all chasing the mighty dollar, you'll be disappointed in what you find. Rather, balance them in the process. I may work 60+ hour weeks, but I still find time to work out every day and stagger my dates on my calendar. Balance.

Good point, Big Neil. Many of these hoes play "hard to get" yet um, while I don't know her entire picture in life, her scope of sources of income streams who, what, when, and where, I highly suspect that on a straight-up income vs. income at our respective REAL jobs (sure she could date a guy briefly, give him *******s, until he fixes her car to save money on dinners, new clothes, with each unsuspecting "boyfriend" to where her income matches mine due to the savings she surmounts over time from blowing all these guys and if all else fails, asking mommy or daddy to wire some cash if they've supported her through her 30s to this point so far; to wit, the government's got her back too) My income should be quadruple her straight-up income, you know, where she actually has to work and not hustle all these dudes on the side in her life, just her Real job vs mine, I'm 4X she. YET, she plays hard to get. Unreal. I get your point. These hoes should be bowing before me sucking on all 10 of my toes.
